    Beyond Expectations

I went last night for my 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend. We had talked many a time about trying Argentine food in NYC but she was skeptical having visited Buenos Aires (the city) numerous times (thats where her mother is from). After doing some research I found this restaurant and decided I was going to take the leap for us both by suprising her. Let me tell you (but dont tell her) the empanadas might have been better than hers. The meat was juicy and the crusts flaky. We shared chorizo and it was perfect. I had Ojo De Bife (boneless ribeye) and it practically melted in my mouth. My girlfriend had Milanesa Napolitana (not the exact name, but close enough) and it was delicious. I've read reviews about the pancakes with caramel, and they did not do the dessert justice, there are no words to describe how delicious it was, and it went perfect with cafe con leche (latte). Overall the experience was very good, but I would definitely suggest making a reservation because even on a Tuesday during a recession this place was PACKED. Luckily the owner was able to seat us, but there was a constant stream in and out regardless. I can not wait to go to Argentina next year if everywhere I go to eat while I'm there parallels this experience.

my favorite argentine rest in the city

I have lived in Argentina, and this is the best restaurant I have found in the states. the service is excellent, the ojo de bife and chicken and beef empanadas are some of the best i have ever had. i recommend this place to everyone.

Better Than a home cooked meal.

What a meal!!!! From the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer to the filet mignon. I thought I was in "the bulli" (Spain). I believe that this is by far the best restaurant with an excellent wine list and fair prices. The caramel custard is an A+.

    Great Food, Atmosphere, and Value

The food is amazing; the filet mignon is by far the best thing on the menu. Also, the fresh baked bread is really good and when you come here, make sure to have the crepes for dessert.. I love coming here for special occasions. I celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here and both of our college graduations. Its a good place for large groups if you plan to go on a weekday b/c then they take reservations. This is by far the best place in NYC.

    Surprisingly good

Only REAL Argie restaurant in the city!

Incredible argentinean food, authentic like no other outside Baires... they even have Quilmes beer ... not the liter bottle but I was just as happy! Worth the visit, the price is just right and there is no friendlier owners anywhere! I'll come back often... I still have to have a Postre Balcarce!
