Great service, amazing food
Went here last night with 3 other people, 2 of which were in town visiting and wanted a good steak. They were not disappointed. One of them has done some travelling in Argentina so is well aware of how highly the country's beef is regarded. He walked out claiming that was the best steak he'd ever had (surpassing the one's he'd had in Argentina). We all agreed, it was top stuff. The waiter's were great, very friendly and helped us pick out a lovely wine and a selection of starters. All in all a great night out. Will be going back very soon

a little education.....
Me and my gf went to this place on a high recommendation. We were hoping to have a good time but were disappointed. Now here are the positives. The service was excellent. From the time we walked in everyone was very attentive and polite. We started with a pitcher of sangria and being avid sangria fans we were immediately disappointed. It tasted watery, lacked flavor and wasnt sweet. We had the empanadas and chorizo as appetizers. The empanadas were average. The chorizo was delicious but the plate lacked presentation and this was true of all the dishes. I had the fettucine and pesto which again was average and lacked salt. My gf had the milanesa de carne, which was a big portion but needed some serious seasoning to make it edible. On the bright side the garlic and parsley fries were great. We did'nt stick around for dessert after the overall disappoinment and will not be going there again.

Buenisimo (Great)!
I have been to several Argentinian restaurants in Manhattan and this place is the most authentic. I am also from Uruguay where the cuisine is the same and you see items on the menu that you don't see in other more fusion-oriented Argentinian steakhouse that are staples. Highly recommended steakhouse.

the best steakhouse around
As a beef lover, and a Uruguayan I can tell you that Buenos Aires is 1000% authentic. Uruguayan cuisine is exactly like Argentinian cuisine, so when I come here it's like I am back in Uruguay. The beef is organic, grass fed directly from Uruguay. The empanadas are perfect! The mozzarel is imported from Italy, the olive oil is sweet and delicious. I know the owners personally and I know that they put a great deal of effort in serving only TOP QUALITY food. Everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared, and top quality. This is BY FAR the best VALUE in NYC, the place is homy, cozy and makes you feel as if you are eating in South America. The staff are always very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I've been here 16 times and plan on going again this week for my 17th, this is by far my FAVORITE restaurant of ALL in NYC...and that is saying a lot since there are so many places to recommend in this big city. Besides how many restaurants do you have the owners seating customers?? That shows how much they care about the restaurant. They are very warm people who always have a smile for their clients, unless its Sat and the place is swamped, in which case you cant blame them because they are incredibly busy attending to the many details of the business. Do yourself a favor and go to Buenos Aires, you will be very glad you did.

"Mi Buenos Aires Querido..."
I was born and raised in Argentina and can honestly tell you that Buenos Aires Restaurant is “without a shadow of a doubt” the best Argentine Steak House in New York City. It’s literally the equivalent of feasting and enjoying the ambiance of Argentina itself, which is incredibly nostalgic for me. For starters, their hand cut empanada is the perfect way to immerse yourself into the perfect meal as an appetizer. The skirt steak is literally melt in your mouth delicious. The service was great and the owner was eager to accommodate and please everyone. I gathered that there are about 40 seats in the place and there are hordes of people always trying to get in. Be warned that this is especially true on weekends, so be patient because it‘s completely worth your while. As an aside- sometimes the owner treats us to berenjenas a la vinagreta (eggplant with vinaigrette ). If it’s not complimentary, don’t hesitate to order it, believe me. Their buffalo mozzarella imported from Napoli is also an incredible treat. You wont regret it! After writing this I’m heading back there this week…

i'm calling shenanigans
i went with my girlfriend tonight for the early dinner shift. i think it's fairly understood that no one really is that familiar with argentine wines. yes, everyone knows malbec but there are many other wines on the wine list. you would think that someone would come by and try to help explain and sell the wines but no...the bread was actually pretty good...the sauvignon blanc was wierd...the $15/glass malbec was okay. my gf ordered the filet mignon shish kebab thing with fries and i had the mixed grill with salad...the mixed grill was a small piece of skirt steak, some spare ribs, grilled veal kidneys, sweetbreads, blood sausage, and chorizo. i looked at some other customers' orders and honestly the presentation had a lot lacking...the neighboring customer's giant hunk of filet mignon was covered in an au poivre type sauce. anyway, my gf's filet mignon shish kebab was barely acceptable...the vegetables on the skewer were actually pretty good but the meat was cooked well done so it was very dry...who eats filet mignon well done? and that's how it comes you don't have an option in that...the menu says the fries are homemade but they're very starchy in a re-constituted potato starch kind of way...if you're used to good fries from bisto-type places you'll be very disappointed. the blood sausage in the mixed grill was the only decent part...everything else was too fatty and needed salt...the lettuce in the salad was overly shredded. on the way out the manager didn't even say thank you/good night. this place is very amateur, service and foodwise. it's for tourist types and otherwise uneducated eaters. i highly UNrecommend this place. i HATE having a bad meal and this place totally pissed me off...meat quality was poor. i totally would have had better food at a local diner.
