Nice experience eating there...good food
I thought the food was great. Had lunch with a few friends. We had the Buddha's Delight, Veg fried rice, fried mushrooms. They tasted great and the service was good as well.

Not recommended
I really don't want to rain on the very nice owner's successful parade. He is an extremely nice man and the service is polite and ok. But beware: if you don't like "kosher" food which translates just about always into HEAVY, don't go here. We had a late lunch. I happen to adore shitake mushrooms and got that lunch special. I could not cut them with my fork. They were the toughest shitakes I ever ate! How did they do that? Old? My husband had curried "chicken" and it was like stringy chicken meat, it made us want to eat good chicken again. My dish was supposed to be shitake mushrooms in black bean sauce but it came laden with a huge amount of big green peppers which I can't eat. I didn't even eat it. There are huge huge portions and it's just so heavy and thick and cloying yuk. If you are a starving kosher vegan food person, maybe you'll like it.

Delicious
Budah Bodai has excelent food and is decorated beautifully with the luxorious scent of all their amazing food. My favorite is Fried Milk Balls.

Excellent experience!
After hearing about this restaurant from online reviews and blogs, I was really looking forward to eating here. The food definitely measured up to the great reviews - I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, and it was seriously some of the best vegan food I've eaten. I wish I had time to try out more of the dishes. The service was also excellent, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Veggie Heaven
I have been here at least three times so I can give a fair review. The food is amazing!!! It's tasty but not oily, flavorful but not overpowering. Like the other person said 'you will crave this fake meat!!' and its true!! (I didnt believe him/her at first..oh how i envy them). I think the lunch specials are the best deals (until 4pm)...there is enough space and the staff is nice. My favorites include General Tso's, Sweet & Sour Chicken and BBQ Veg Meat. I love being a vegetarian!! (but u carnivores will enjoy it too!!) Happy eating!!

Great veggie & kosher food!
Food is amazing... tastes like real meat but it is vegetarian and kosher. The owner is very nice and he even speaks some Hebrew phrases to make everyone feel welcome (as well as Mandarin and Cantonese). Everything is excellent and the prices are fair and reasonable. Try the Dim Sum dishes as well!

Worth Trying
My sis & I had lunch here on what seemed like a very busy Saturday nite. It was really LOUD and we could not hold a conversation with each other (even though we were sitting less then 10 inches apart!) Despite the noise I must say the food was good. We had the BBQ meat , General Tso's (like other reviews suggested) and the Sweet and Sour chicken. The portions were generous but a little too pricey. I think there are other good (and possibly better) vegetarian places out in NY but this place is worth trying once.
