really enjoyed this
I took my out of country friends here to eat. I love vegan food, but they are real meat eaters. I had general Tso's chicken, one of my friends had Sweet and Sour chicken and my other friend ordered a bunch of Dim Sum. Then we shared! Everything was delicious. We had some sort of sweet bun that was a bit odd tasting, but the rest was fresh and yummy! The service was wonderful, quick and friendly. Even the atmosphere was great. It was a typical lunch place. It was full with locals and that in my opinion says it all. If people who know what they are eating are going there, then it must be good, and it was!

Took order but never delivered
I placed a delivery order for this restaurant at 9:12 Saturday night. The estimated delivery time was 15-30 minutes. 45 minutes later I called and was told the delivery guy had left 15 minutes ago. Thirty minutes after that the food had not been delivered and the restaurant did not pick up the phone. The food never came but the credit card was charged.

Excellent food - lunch specials best deal
Food always delicious. I think their General Tso's is better than the real kind with chicken! They also have an amazing ribs in brown sauce on the lunch menu that even imitates the fat on the meat. It's probably not the healthiest thing in the world, but it's yummy. The standard prices are OK, but it's during the weekdays, when they're running their lunch specials, that you really get a bargain. Then the combo of great food and great prices is unbeatable.

Unappetizing food
I agree with the other review which asks' what's all the hype about?' This place has good reviews but the food is unappetizing! Everything is dripping in oil and oyster sauce - nothing tastes fresh and most of the dishes we ordered were pretty much inedible. I would say it is the most disappointing place I have ever eaten and would NOT recommend this to anyone. There is no atmosphere and even if it was cheaper I could still not understand why people would eat here.

Best Vegan food ever
Buddha Bodai is consistently EXCELLENT. The General Tso's "chicken" and the "chicken" lo mein are both delicious and eerily similar to real meat. I wish there were more locations around the city!

Absolutely De-Licious
What great food! Very tasty, nice textures, and such eye-appeal! You can make a really great meal out of just the large Assorted Appetizer platter...but do try other items. best to go with a few others so you can all order a different dish and share . Nice clean place, and you know you're not getting any animal-based broth in any of the soups or sauces. Nice that they accept credit cards...

Great quality, service
We went to Buddha Bodai for dinner this past Thursday. The food was very high-quality, and the portions were MASSIVE. My 14-year old son and I each ordered a main course, and they looked like each plate alone could feed three or four people. We took home the vast majority of our dishes. The fake chicken tasted like the real thing. Because he is a somewhat picky eater, my son didn't like some of the dishes (although he really enjoyed one of the fake chicken or fake meat dishes - I can't remember what it was called right now), but the quality of the food is very good for somebody who could appreciate it. The service was excellent - perhaps some of that had to do with the place having many open tables - but we were very impressed, nonetheless. Would highly recommend.
