But I dont care! I do! I think the atmostphere is great (once you get past the overcrowded bar), the service is wonderful, and the food is amazing. The edamame dumplings and the boneless spare ribs are to die for. And, my bill has always been suprisingly low, for a restaurant of this nature. Will go back again, and again, and again.

Please don't listen to these negative reviews. The decor is amazing, the food is absolutely amazing and it is even a lot of fun. I eat at a lot of nice restaurants for my job and this place ranks right at the top. It is both humorous and sad to watch people make themselves feel important by trashing good restaurants.

Truly...Chinese food should never be this expensive. The place is huge and so is the noise level. The bridge and tunnel and corporate suits will love this place...

I was really excited to eat here due to all of the hype. The decor was awesome and the people watching was great, but the food was definitely overhyped. Our server was really great, but I was not impressed with the food. The drinks, however, were fantastic. I would go back, but just for drinks.

We requested the main dining room downstairs when making a reservation. We were put in a backroom instead. There was a group 10 people at a table all drunk, yelling, banging the table and hysterically laughing for the duration of our dinner. We asked to change rooms but none were available. The staff never asked these people to lower their voices. Overall, the entire restaurant upstairs and downstairs had an amplitude of noise that would intefere with any diner's conversation or interest in food. Although the food was very good, the ambiance was of a cheap nightclub. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with taste, class or integrity.

Went to Buddakan this Christmas Eve. Got a very good impression when I called to make reservation. Very nice and polite staff. I saw their picts from web site, but when I entered the restaurant... there was still a 'WOW'. Such a beautiful place! The asian girl who brought us to the table was super friendly! Our waitress was great too. We sat in the ground floor. The place was dark and filled with good atmosphere! Don't forget to take a look to the basement level. It's where they put the long table and super size chandeliers. Such a great place. There were 2 of us. We ordered king crab siu-mai, rock'n shrimps? for apptizer. Shrimps were quite salty. For main we had teasmoke chicken and black cod in black bean sauce. There were both really good. However, the long beans (side dish) we ordered, was way too salty. They should reduce the salt/ soy sauce! Dessert is a MUST there. The chocolate cake was so good. Also their fancy cocktail taste good! Overall it's a very good experience to dine in Buddakan and really worth for the price! I like their food/ menu better than Tao.

I have been looking forward to eating at Buddakan since it opened...wow, so disappointing! Beginning with the staff, you'd think in a hot, trendy, newish restaurant, the staff would be nice looking and well put together. Well this staff was definitely NOT dressed to impress. They were uniformed in dumpy capri pants, oversized black shirts, and they all looked extremely schleppy! Apart from the staff, the food was less than par. I am an asian-fusion LOVER and Buddakan definitely didnt make a lover out of me. The general tsos dumplings came out maybe 90 seconds after we ordered....um, made to order? I dont think so...they were okay...the rest of the appetizers-shrimp dumplings, and calamari salad were very mediocre. The main courses were nothing special either. Extremely salty and very bland! This restaurant was overpriced for the quality...go to Tao or Buddah Bar...
