The only authentic Pizza on the Upper West Side

I am a native Italian and I go to Buca every week because it is one the best pizzas in New York. This is even better than many pizzerias in Italy I know. I don't really understand the negative comments I saw here, it must from people who don't understand what real Italian food is. That means many people in the US think Italian-American food = Italian. That's because they never travelled to Italy. The pizzaiolo here is a native Italian and the pizza oven is also from Italy, I think. I also think this is mainly a pizzeria, so I would not go here to order pasta or meatballs. The specialty is pizza so order pizza, not meatballs and then complain about them! It would be the same as going to the Sushi restaurant and order ramen.

    Yum

This place is really good for dinners after a long day in the park. Their pizza is soo good and after going there a couple times the waitress knows my taste well. Theyre desserts are also really good, but if you get there too late, there's a chance theyll run out of some. I recommend the eggplant pizza, and i dont even like eggplant.

The pizza place in the upper west side

We love the four cheese pizza. The blue cheese gives it just the right kick, love it, love it, love it. Recommended to everyone.

    Not recommended

Aesthetically, the restaurant looks like a nice little cozy place to bring a date. Didn't eat inside restaurant, but I did order in. Very disappointed with food. Pasta for both myself and my girlfriend was rubbery, ordered one thing then was called back to be told I had to get something else cause they ran out, tomato sauce was bland, order of meatballs only came with three ping pong sized mini balls. Deliveryman was courteous and had a pleasant personality, but if he's also the chef then he shouldn't be too proud. For what I had spent on dinner for two, I was definitely NOT satisfied and felt as if it were a waste of $$$. I was hoping for a decent neighborhood Italian Restaurant.

    Fantastic pizza!

I can't believe this place is in my neighborhood. It's the best pizza I've had in years, including Grimaldi's and Franny's in Brooklyn.

    Great neighborhood find

Unpretentious, cozy, and with very good food. authentic Italian style pizza. good salad. I am told the pasta is terrific,as well. Coming from 30 years in the West Village with wonderful neighborhood, small restaurants, it was terrific to find this place.

Who puts beets in a vegetarian pizza?

Really? Beets in pizza? The most unappetizing pizza ever eaten. I love vegetarian pizza but not beets. The sweetish taste ruins it all..dont order the vegtarian pizza..
