Celebrity sighting..that's about it
I basically paid for a celebrity sighting. Michael Myers was a table away. The breakfast was overpriced for what seemed like upscale diner food. The waitress stopped at our table 2 twice. Once to order, then to give check. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant and had a lovely grandma'ish feel. But nothing amazing.

Great Weekend find!
I went last weekend, TWICE, one early afternoon with some girlfriends for a leisurely lunch before shopping and had such a great time (great food, we each had sandwiches all on great homemade bread) that I had to drag my boyfriend back the very next day.. (this time we tried some of the breakfast specials, highly recommend the crunchy french toast and the turkey sausage, to DIE for).. On both visits my party had to wait apx 30 minutes but it was the weekend (to be expected) and it was gorgeous outside so who cares? Also the hostesses were very nice, the bar accomodating, and once seated the servers were very friendly.. I can't imagine a nicer place to spend the weekend mornings... Looking forward to another visit soon.. (ps- my only gripe.. should accept American Express cards)

Better years ago
Bubby's WAS a great restaurant years ago. Having not been in over five years I went back a week ago and was shockingly disappointed. Years ago you had to wait a while for your food but it was always freshly cooked and delicious. Now with its popularity my 3 meat barbeque special was obviously pre-made and reheated! The chicken was dry, the ribs barely heated and full of fat and the pulled pork was cold. Plus the sides were poor. Not to mention the portion was half the size it used to be! Really disappointing.

Great Food
We ate at Bubby's for the first time and the food was great. This restaurant was highly recommended by a NY police officer whom eats there often. I had the meatloaf which was great and a huge portion.

Go early... or wait forever
Some previous reviews seem to be a bit tough on Bubby's. I eat there quite often, but try to get there when it opens on a sunday rather than wait for the enormous brunch-time queue to form. I've never had any trouble with the food (or seen any unwanted wildlife on the floor). Pancakes and cooked breakfast (eggs, homefries etc) are great. I wouldn't bother with the sandwiches and salads - you can get better elsewhere. And true, it's not cheap, but the food's an awful lot better than a cheap diner.

Good eggs!
Yes, there is a line during brunch on Sunday...but, there is a reason. They have a great selection and delicious, fluffy, scrambled eggs. I love the bisquits and jam and the mimosas aren't bad, either. Go for the Bubby's Breakfast. Not the cheapest place, but it's brunch! I've always had good service and the staff is always smiling. I'll be back!!

Avoid on Sundays!
I generally like the food & have eaten most of the menu. I Recommend the mac & cheese and the pulled pork. Dessert are also very good. Sunday brunch is out of control. Been a scene for many years. Dont do it unless you love waiting in line-outside. Weekdays I like the usual local patrons as Tribeca is pretty neighborhoody. Atmosphere is like an old vermont diner with home sytle cooking. My biggest problem is it is somewhat dirty and I have seen roaches a few times YUK! Service varies sometimes quick sometimes slow staff changes but some are very nice. It is a bit pricey for simple food, but hey It IS Tribeca.
