    such a sad salad

$20 Cobb salad took 1 hour to deliver 3 blocks.. wilted lettuce, wrong dressing. Thrown together and not very tasty. Scary delivery guy. so sad because I always support the local joints, but the food has really gone down hill.

If you like spending $60 on a plain bfast for 2 people, then this is your kind of place

I have lived in Tribeca for 6 years and I have been to Bubby's numerous times. It had been a year since I last went, however, and this past weekend will surely be my final time. We decided to get breakfast at Bubby's on the Fri of July 4th weekend, knowing that the typically painful wait wouldn't be so bad with much of NYC out of town. We were seated right away which was great but that is the only positive thing I can say. I ordered Bubby's breakfast, which is simply 2 eggs, toast, home fries, and bacon or sausage and "fruit". I do not eat meat and asked for an alternative to the meat portion. Asked for a pancake, waitress with a n attitude said no it would not be possible. Asked for extra fruit, waitress said they could do that. Other person at breakfast ordered an omlette - it was $19. we both got a cup of coffee and he got a lemonade. that was it. Food arrives, with one skinny slice of cantaloupe, which is the "fruit" that it comes with. I asked what happened to my extra fruit in place of the meat? Waitress (again quite rude and uninterested in the situation) said that was all she could get me, and asked if I'd like to order...and pay for...a $10 fruit cup. She refused to give me anything else as part of my meal. Cost of my dish which in the end was eggs, toast, home fries with tiny slice of cantaloupe - $17 total cost of breakfast for two, with tax and tip - $60. also they do not accept credit cards for bfast/brunch. the sign on the door makes it sound like it is just a one off instance, but they have been doing it for years.

    Always disappointed at Bubby's

My husband and I have lived in the neighborhood of Bubby's for the past 8 years and we've given Bubby's so many chances - and unfortunately we always walk away disappointed. We stopped going when they were having those MAJOR hygiene problems that caused the city of NY to shut them down last year but we've gone back since. Things have improved somewhat with the service and cleanliness but not completely -and not for the high prices that they charge for their food. The atmosphere is fun and family-friendly but there are SO many more places in NYC to go to if you are looking for a great restaurant, good food and good service. It's a shame that a place like Bubby's doesn't take more pride in itself and want to offer its clients the best of everything - especially because the clientele has been so faithful, even through all the health and hygiene problems.

    Disappointed

I recently had brunch with my family and was disappointed. I had been to Bubby's in years past and enjoyed it, even though it was overpriced. This time the service was really terrible. Our waiter was rude for no reason, and the servers were resentful of us for asking for things like butter, and bread plates. They also told us there was no decaf coffee, and offered no explanation. The food itself was tasty and delivered in a timely manner, but at $17 for an omelet (without coffee) the guests ought to be treated with more respect. I would not go back.

    Stellar Delivery Service

We ordered Bubbys tonight and what a great experience! Great cobb salad, matzoh ball soup and artichoke dip. The dip came with toasted chips which we didnt receive with the delivery order. We didnt call or complain because the dip was good by itself. About a half an hour later, the doorbell rings and it was the delivery man with our toasted chips. On top of that he also gave us complimentary pumpkin pecan pie and mac & cheese. We will definitely be ordering from Bubbys again! 5+ Stars for service!

Tasty pie and burgers but way overpriced

My husband and I went for dinner last night and dined al fresco. It took the waitress almost 15 minutes just to take our order. The diners next to us had the same issue and had to go inside to request service. The food was good and the homemade chili lime soda was interesting. However, we wound up spending close to $70 (including tax & tip) for 2 burgers, fries, sodas, a slice of pie and a slice of cake. I don't mind the occasional splurge, but this wasn't worth it in terms of service, atmosphere and quality.

    Not bad

Bubbys to me is a cross between Chat n' Chew and Sosa Borella. I went for lunch and ordered a pesto and mozerella sandwich with crusty mac n' cheese. The food was good and the portions are decent. I would go back again. However, they did not have enough waiters working during the lunch hour. That or they were taking too long to serve us.
