    Amazing

It's been about six years since I last visited Bubby's. I took a client there today and still love it! On the high side but par for Tribeca, all worth it. Had the portabello sandwich, mac N cheese and a biscuit.

    Unbelievable.

We came here for a late night meal absolutely starving and were bitterly disappointed. I ordered steak and eggs that were literally inedible. The grits tasted like dish soap, the steak was overcooked and tasteless and the eggs were greasy. I left still hungry. Oh, and it was heinously overpriced. NEVER coming back here.

    So much room for improvement.

I hope Bubby's wakes up. They have such a wonderful policy of farm to table & as organic as possible. Unfortunately they rarely update the specials menu. More unfortunate is the heavy hand at salting food that could be healthy and the chewy inedible expensive steaks they never seem to get right. What a waste. What do you mean you cannot tell me the specials I must get them online!?! 30 mins later still not updated I call back and am told you aren't delivering now anyway .. Huh!? Still no specials no delivery whatcha doing over there .. Working? Something's are good but they rarely make up for the poorly executed cooking and occasionally inept service. Bubby's: Please wake up I want so badly to love you!

    End of an Era

Like another reviewer used to Love this place, especially when my kids were little. We came here for the comfort food, homey atmosphere and friendly service. It has now become a tourist trap and a pretentious Tribecca scene. Expensive, crowded, noisy, poor service, Not a good time. I still sigh with nostalgia when I pass by, but thats all I do is pass by!

Not as good as it used to be

I moved to Tribeca in the late nineties and this place was like a second home. It had a family like atmosphere and REALLY good home style meals. I stayed loyal until very recently when I ordered one of my favorites and it was disappointing--fried chicken, mac and cheese and green beans. The chicken was greasy, the mac and cheese slimy (still had the good crusty topping but the inside was like slop) and the greens were just eh. This was not the first time I've been disappointed but it is the last time I'll eat there. Prices are over the top and the food has gone down, down, down.

    Disappointing experience

Went yesterday for brunch and wound up spending $120 for ordinary diner food ( 4 people) My wife actually had to get up to request the butter she had asked for 15 minutes previously. $4 for a cup of coffee is ridiculous. $15 for an ordinary burger which was really not cooked properly, but I did not feel like returning it as my waitress had disappeared.

Not the place it used to be

Went to Bubby's last weekend because I remember it fondly from years ago when I first moved to NYC. I could not have been more disappointed. We had a 45 minute wait for a meal for 3 which set us back $100 with tip (for food, no alcohol). The service was fine -- when we could find our waiter -- but I nearly not knocked out by a busboy who elbowed me in the head and then glared at me as though it was my fault. This restaurant is resting way too much on it's laurels and the fact that there are not a lot of alternatives in the neighborhood. Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor and avoid it.
