Mmm
Love it Ive been in both BG's in Hawaii (the views are amazing!) and this one in Times Square. It is definately a favorite of mine. If I could eat it every day I would. Long lines though.

Great food and service
This was our first time to a Bubba Gump restaurant and would recommend it and would go back. Wait was long (although pretty close to what they said it would be), but it was worth it. When putting in our name, I forgot to mention we needed a high chair, but told the host when he was taking us to our table. He imediately radioed he needed one at our table, and it was there before we got to the table. That was a sign of how the rest of the evening would go. The food was very good and served without much wait, our service was excellent (very attentive), and the atmosphere was fun. Servers did stop by when sign said stop. Our kids enjoyed it as well and loved looking out the window at Times Square with all the lights and glitter............

Average Food, Poor Service
Have eaten here a few times, I like to bring in poeople when the come to visit me in NYC. Good location, nice set-up. Food is average, not but but not great. Service was poor in my opinion. They say you flip the "Stop Forrest" sign and anyone will serve you. I flipped it over and the 6 wait staff all talking ignored my table as did the 3 people who walked by. I had to continually ask for a drink refill. In a good restaraunt the server should see you glass is getting low and just bring you one or at least ask if you would like another. I think if they got some better management in there to train and watch over the staff it would be a much better experience.

Nothing Special
If you like chain restuarants it's okay but there are such great places to eat in NYC you shouldn't waste your time going here. It was clean and the view was nice but the food was nothing special. Alot like an Applebees or Fridays.

Pricey
To add to a previous reviewer - you need an open mind and an open wallet. The quality was good but not the best bang for the buck. We were ignored by the staff for quite a bit. Decorations were a bit over the top but then again - this is how they get their $$$. Overall - an average experience. Lower the prices and serve more food - this way you'll get locals as well as tourists.

A box of chocolates to temp and delight
To those who say this is a tourist trap I say "Stupid is as stupid does" - if you prefer being with the locals stay out of Times Square and go back to your own neighborhood! To those with an open mind, prepare to be enchanted. Many are familiar with the mouth watering scenes involving shrimp and chocolate in the famous movie this eatery is named for, so the question is - can the restaurant live up to such a history? I can assure you that if you put yourself in Bubba's hands, order with child like enthusiam and abandon and bring a hearty appetite you will be delighted! Here's what I sampled...appetizer: Bubba's Far Out Dip. I had wanted to try the Cajun Shrimp appie, but since I like mild spice (more Mrs. Dash than Chile Powder) I opted for this appetizer. Perhaps "Far Out" is a stretch since I make a similar dip at home, but it was delicious and I found myself scraping the crock with chips to the utter embarrassment of my date. I looked no further than "Forrest's Favorites" for my entree - who would? And Forrest had some good ideas, like the Bourbon Mahi Mahi. This comes with shrimp and I had to have some shrimp before I left! It came delightfully presented on a bed of mashed potatos which I again ate every last bite of. My date ordered Boat Trash for dinner - yes, that is the name! It's actually fried seafood, and he said it was delicious. And he cleaned all the trash up! I washed this back with a scrumptious cocktail called the Lava. For dessert we had a delicious warm apple cobbler. I was vaguely annoyed at these prices that I had to pour the sauce on it myself, but the waiter discouraged me from asking him to do it. Maybe life is like a box of chocolates, but in this case you know what you will get - a great meal!!!!
