Fun Place
The staff including the maitre d' are super friendly and the atmosphere is fun with kids everywhere excited at being tourists in NYC. That said the shrimp bisque was great and prepared correctly but the few shrimp pieces in it were not high quality. The delicious mahi mahi entree with bourbon cream sauce was really good - only it was garnished with shrimp that should have been better. The chefs are pros but low quality shrimp should never appear in a place known for shrimp.

Still Just Ok
I have been here a couple of times in the past, mainly because of dessert! After finding out they had removed my favorite dessert from the menu I was so disappointed I never came back! Last night while eagerly desiring some shrimp another restaurant's wait list was way too long so I though maybe I should give this place a second chance...to say I shouldve waited instead and wouldve had a way better meal! Dont get me wrong this place has an amazing creative atmosphere which is what I love and service is great! The food is just so subpar to everything else! I didn't even finish my dish, and the drink tasted so artificial! No more chances for you BG sorry!

Shrimpin'!
I openly wept when "Strictly Shrimp" on 2nd Avenue closed several years ago. Am I the only woman on earth who could eat shrimp every day? When I saw the movie that inspired this establishment, I had a real connection; Bubba loved shrimp the way I do. So I decided to try this place despite it being in Times Square (not really where NYers eat, after all.) Why did I wait so long! I absolutely loved it, and had a peel n' eat me shrimp appetizer and shrimp entree! The shrimptastic selection of dishes was phenomenal! I had several cocktails, ate shrimp, and had so much fun I slipped my heels off at the end of the meal and walked out in my stocking feet! :)

The very best for money
This is the very best place in NYC to have shrimps prepared on different way, but the very best are the shrimps in bucket, boiled in the beer. Enormous portion and with incredibly taste.

Be careful what you drool for...
Who hasn't watched Bubba Gump and not drooled over the delicious scenes involving food? It's a whirlwind of scenes with shrimp and chocolates, and probably could be up there with "Julie & Julia" as a favorite food movie for me. So I could not WAIT to get to this restaurant and sample some well priced, amply portioned food inspired from the famous "shrimp Creole, Peeled Shrimp, Shimp Gumbo, Shrimp Scampi..." dialogue from the movie. Perhaps I should have let those Bubba recipes float in mind mind rather than get onto my plate. The food? OK? The idea of this place? Delicious! Don't miss the gift shop!

Great place, Great Food!
We had a great time at Bubba Gumps. Our server was just a great guy, the food was great, it was a little expensive but not any different then anything else in Times Square. Highly Recommend it!
