I stopped into Brown Cup to grab a quick breakfast and a coffee. Everyone behind the counter was speaking spanish and as I looked at the menu boards, they just stared at me instead of asking if I needed help. Since it seemed clear that I was not to order from them, I stepped up to the register and started to order. The girl raised her eyebrow at me and said "You order over there?" Like I was retarded. I apologized and headed back to the counter but not before she blatantly rolled her eyes at me. I ordered (with some difficulty since I couldn't understand what the guy was saying), then went back to Hostile Cashier Girl and then saw that I was just short of the $8 card minimum and I had no cash. Apparently I was delusional to hope she'd give me a break - she rolled her eyes again (this time to my face) and pointed out the card minimum. Rather than buying a bottle of water to push myself over, I told her to forget it, walked out and around the block to argo tea where I was happy to pay twice as much for essentially the same thing. I'm usually pretty tolerant of bad or indifferent service. I'm from New Jersey. But this girl pissed me off, and I would gladly walk the extra block in heels and pay twice the price than experience that attitude again.

The sandwich selection here is quite awesome. The actual execution of the food is very, very good too - I've ordered a few different sandwiches, and each has had a unique bread, filling, dressing etc. Quality of ingredients totally satisfies. Even their coffee is great. But most surprising has been the delivery. Usually when I get delivery from places, I can sit down and expect to have accomplished a decent amount of work before the food arrives. With this place, I've consistently been jarred by the doorbell literally minutes after ordering. It's like their delivery guy uses teleportation or something.

Their food is great and probably the cheapest on 8th ave! Perfect for quick breakfast on the go, or sit in. Nice, simple little place, chill atmosphere. Coffee's excellent.

I used to order at least once a week from here. However in the last month i have stopped. .delivery takes forever. They bring the wrong thing and often take a VERY long time to get your correct food back to you. I will no longer be ordering from here.

The sandwiches here are so good and interesting. The food is fresh. Beware the salad bar, if you order roo many ingredients you'll end up with a 3 lb salad, they give you more than the average salad bar. The onl;y thing they need is better desserts but a tasty cup all in all.

my office is a few blocks away and i always get delivery SUPER fast...delivery guy is nice and polite as is everyone who works there...and the soup even shows up hot every time!

I ordered a lunchtime delivery today and it came in 15 minutes flat, even though my office is a good seven blocks from the shop. The mozzarella avocado sandwich was delicious, although on the wrong kind of bread (maybe if I'd placed my order by phone instead of online, they could have told me they were out of baguettes). Highly recommended with fast delivery at lunch time.
