    Quite Good

Ordered take out, came in about 30 minutes. The mac and cheese portion (ordered as a side dish, not with a meal) was generous and quite good. The house salad is a good size though the vinagerette lacks flavor. By far the best deal is the rib tips app ($7.95) which is a very large size and delicious tasting (not too fatty). The pulled pork sandwich, however, was ridiculous. There was practically no meat on it, and it looked quite meager. The fire fries were great, though the portion size was less generous (perhaps because it was included with the sandwich). All in, a very good take out experience.

    Not worth the hassle

I've been to Jimmy's many times, but I've avoided it lately. I find the service to be increasingly poor, with it taking too long to get a seat, and then forever for the waitress to come. They also can't the concept of an "appetizer" down, and always bring everything at once... They need to tighten up their act there - it's a great environment and they always have good sports on TV, but it's NOT WORTH THE HASSLE....until they improve...

    Food's good, never been in

I prefer their dry rub ribs compared to the ribs with vinegary sauces that they and every other BBQ restaurant offersI like my ribs salty and not sweet or tangy. Although I've never been to the restaurant (I'm a delivery customer since eating ribs is a messy business best savored in private), their service and people answering the phone have been consistently friendly over the five or so years I've been ordering from them. One thing I do wish is that they'd offer Deviled Eggsit's one thing that I crave but have to go downtown to the likes of Blue Smoke, etc., for.

Best Sunday Deal on the UES

Every Sunday, I try to head over there with some buddies to enjoy the best deal on the UES. For about $22, you get unlimited ribs, 2 side dishes, and unlimited beer. It's usually not entirely packed, but decent and the waitresses are nice, not to mention cute. I give it a thumbs up for Sunday evenings...

Abandoned at my table for 40 minutes

I went here for the first time a month ago and while the service was a little on the slow side, I thought it was just a one time thing. The food was decent so I recently decided to go back. This was a big mistake. My friend and I each ordered a shrimp po' boy and after waiting 40 minutes, without our waitress ever coming over to our table, we had to leave (it was that or pass out from hunger). A po' boy is not hard to make, just put a piece of shrimp on a roll and serve. The waitress never even came over to explain what was taking so long. She did, however, find the time to dance to multiple songs and socialize with other employees.

    Quality went deep South

This updates my earlier review. Prices have gone way up and quality has gone way down. Chicken fried steak, once edible even if not good, is no longer fit for consumption, human or otherwise. ($14.75) Brisket was tough ($15.25) Catfish ($13.95) was OK. All were platter orders which came with trimmings--fries OK, corn OK , collard greens and string beans tasteless, macaroni and cheese OK. Drinks and sodas reasonably priced. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is what the customers come for. (I had given up on their ribs years ago--I never liked dry rub and their ribs were more fat than meat.) Won't return.

    get it together

Is it honestly so hard to deliver within a 3 block radius in an hours time? The food was lackluster and the service worthy of a special olympic gold metal. Congrats on being horrible.
