    No longer a "restaurant"

This place used to be a decent place to eat. They've made the decision to be a bar. The quality of the food has drastically decreased while they have somehow raised the price. It's still a fun place to go and watch a game though. Their drinks aren't too expensive and some of the speciality drinks are pretty good.

    Best BBQ This is Not

If you are looking for the best BBQ in NYC this is not the place....If you are looking for dried out Brisket, burnt and dried out ribs that didnt fall off the bone, that were so dry that i threw out all of the brisket and most of the ribs from my order. the Mac & Cheese was good and so were the hush puppies (but no gravy) So for $40, including tip those were good. this place has progressively gone down hill. The upper east needs a new BBQ restaurant

I Don't See What Was So Good About It...

Clearly, the owners don't eat there. Me? I'm spoiled. I've spent good amounts of time in places where BBQ is a way of life and what passes for BBQ on 3rd & 92nd ain't cutting it. I would have ordnarily been at Dinosaur (not the best, but some years later they still get it right), but that would have been an all night affair. There's always 'signs'. My first sign, the empty tables in the eight o'clock hour on a Saturday night. This should have sent me packing, but I'm an optimistic fool for a quick fix and I went with it. Once seated, it took a good ten or so minutes to get the ball rolling with some service. Oddly, the preoccupied midwestern student server, we'll call her 'Preoccupied Ohio', chose to bypass our semi brown skinned table and the table of the Latino couple that sat a few minutes after us to rush to the aid of the two goofy white boys who didn't even have their coats off yet. This irked the Latino couple enough to leave a few moments later. I don't blame 'em. Me? I'm still a sucker for eating now. In short, 'Northern Ribs' (smoked, then grilled with their mediocre little sauce) suck, 'Southern Ribs' (dry rubbed with what tastes like orange pekoe tea & Old Bay) sucked worse and were pretty much inedible. The brisket was dead and flavorless and their array of watery sauces were no help. To keep it real, the Memphis dry rub ribs didn't suck all that bad, however, while being extremely heavy handed with the (what seemed like McCormick) rub, they were shy with the salt in the meat prep, The meats are carelessly undersalted. Mac & Cheese? Sucked. Dry and soulless. Slaw was OK, hush puppies re-dipped in the fryer and last, but not at all least, the candied yams with walnuts were f'ing delightful. Maybe the best I ever had, however, as nice a surprise as it was, people don't come for the candied yams. Ownership needs to step it up. The small sides should at least have a little flow over the sides of their small serving dishes and most importantly, they should be good and not dryed out at eight on a Saturday night. Soul & graciousness. In closing this lengthy nonsense out, good attitudes go a long way in making bad food more palletable. Preoccupied Ohio will soon get a move on to something she's better at and no longer be bothered by mere New Yorkers with artery clogging death wishes. No soul, no graciousness- very unsouthern off the bat.

don't expect world class food or service

This updates 2004 review. We've been here many times since then. Food is always decent and reasonably priced but no longer cheap. Service is OK. Last time we cate here, it was Monday. All you can eat rib tips and wings for $15.95 (beer or soda incl). The ribs were a pleasant surprise-meaty and not overly fatty; I prefer adding nothing to them. Buffalo wings were surprisingly good. Nicely fried to golden crispy, good medium spicy sauce, fresh ribs and wings, blue cheese but no celery. I was full after one helping of ribs and two orders of wings. REfills on wings and soda were prompt. My companion ordered a burger with onion straws ($11)-OK. 2 sodas ($6) and a smores ($6) NOT made with graham crackers but huge. There were young kids running around everywhere. Large groups (over 4) filled the back room. It was still fun, got full on decent food and didn't break my piggy bank. Servers were harried but did not affect courteousness and promptness with clearing plates, getting water, check, etc.

    great delivery!

Just ordered food from them. And I must say, the chicken fajita with cheese is very good as a last minute dinner, for those who are lazy or stressed.

Great Place for some good BBQ

I usually go on one of there special event nights. Its a great price (anywhere from $16-$23) for all you can eat and drink. Its not crazy packed and the staff is extremely accomodating and friendly. Depending where you sit it can get a little loud, but thats only if a game is going on. The food is great for the price and I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to watch a game, get good cheap food, and just hang out.
