    Awesome Pulled Pork sandwich

I really enjoyed the south carolina pulled pork sandwich and the mustard bbq sauce that went with it. Delicious food and lively crowd made this a fun experience.

    Good southern comfort food

My husband and I just moved to u.e.s and we were pleasantly surprised. Great sweet tea. I had the fried chicken. Damn good. The brisket was great and the mac and cheese was everything it should be. Our server was aloof at best but the foofdmade up for it. We will be going back

    Great Service/Food

It's a high spirited place with a wonderful & helpful staff. The food was very good (I'm a vegetarian even) and the service was quick and knowledgeable. I will definitely go back again and bring friends. It is a bit loud at times, but that mostly adds to atmosphere of the place. There was only one thing really that befuddled me a little and that was the paper menu which doubled as the place matt. It's a fine idea, but why not laminate them so you don't have to throw them out every time or ever again for that matter. Simply wipe down and your good to go and you save a good chunk of money and some trees. Otherwise it was a great dining experience. Thank you very much.

    Noisy but tasty

The food was great and ample. Our server was very friendly and helped to explain our questions from the menu. But oh my! Was it noisy! We could barely hear one another across the table. Not the place for a quiet date, but great if you love ribs and wanna try the fixins (fried green tomatoes, hush puppies:)

Good but moms is much better

Im from North Carolina( Lumberton) to be exact, which is near fayetteville and raleigh. I was pleased to find a southern restaurant on the u.e.s. where i live. The delivery was pretty fast. The food was good but my mom and grandmothers is MUCH better! The fried catfish was good but too much batter. The hushpuppies were great. The mac and cheese was great too. The shrimp and cheese filled jalepenos were great!! The okra-which is my fav back home. Here it wasnt so good. It wasn't hot enough by the time it arrived and the batter was spicy. The coleslaw wasnt impressive either. Nonetheless, i would order again b/c this is the kind of food i grew up on and you cant find it here that often. I should open up my own soul food restaurant- lol.

Pretty good food, but very noisy.

I had the combo ribs. I'm no BBQ conniseur, but I've tried a decent amount of ribs at different places, and this was among the best I've had. The Northern style was tender, but a bit on the salty side. The dry rub and southern were very similar to each other and were quite tender and tasty. If you like your ribs charred and on the sweet side - go to Chinatown - I think the ribs there are tastier, but a little stringy and fatty. The yams were quite good. Collard greens were a bit salty. Baked beans were tasty. I had the fried green tomatoes - first time I've ever had them. They were okay - too much batter for my taste. Friendly waitresses. VERY noisy. Could barely hear my dinner date. And I had to speak really loudly for her to hear me - I was a bit hoarse by the end of the meal. So don't come here if you want a nice dinner conversation.
