    Good Times

Food was great, I highly recommend the dry rub ribs! If you are stuck in the UES and are craving southern food, then Brother Jimmy's will satisfy your need. You have to be up for the crowd though, don't go if you are looking for peace and quiet, but want a high energy experience.

    Great Southern BBQ!

I just ate @ Brother Jimmy's on Saturday night and had a great time! There was a waitlist to be seated, but the hostesses were nice and sat us within a reasoable time frame, the waitress was sweet and fun and the food was great too ( and I'm not a huge fan of BBQ)! Overall it was such a fun night out, we even got a free swamp water from our waitress!! Can't wait to go back with a bigger group of friends!!!

    delivery so-so

delivery is ok. Onion straws are great, as well as pulled pork. But one of the sides didn't make it. The southern style ribs were tough. Very tough. Northern were better. Took about 50 minutes for delivery. Overall good, but not great.

Good Food, Deal with the Atmosphere

BJ's gets a bad rap from a lot of people because of the very young crowd and meat-market atmosphere that prevails at night. But I've learned to get over it, and aside from the loud music, I've never really been bothered there. The ribs are really good, as is the country fried steak, and the collards are wonderful. Skip the mac n cheese - it's a little sour and pretty disappointing.

    Fun times & Good food!!

I've been there a few times to grab a drink or two or five! But this was the first time I actually sat down and ate and I was not disappointed. The place was packed but the hostesses seated us promptly, the waitress was sweet and gave great service, and I had some of the best Southern comfort food of my life! (I'm a tough critic of BBQ b/c I'm from Kansas City but this was GOOD)

    Funny Times For Everyone

We went for lunch and my children had a great time. The children's menu is free! My rib portion was generous. I was able to share my plate with my children. The collard greens were the best! The atmosphere was fun and inviting. They had games to entertain the children while I finished my meal in peace for a change. The staff was welcoming and informative. Can't wait to go back on a Sunday for all you can eat ribs!

    Delivery

The food was delivered fairly quickly but we were disappointed with it. We had chicken and ribs - the chicken was undercooked and the ribs were nothing to write home about. Even the sides left a lot to be desired - the collard greens were way too spicy and the cornbread was dry. There are much better BBQ places in the city and this one is not a repeat for me.
