good neighberhood bbq
this place is great- food, service and atmosphere are great. i had the pulled pork and turkey burger sliders and they were very tasty and good. the sides mac and cheese and string beans were also great.

Expect the unexpected
If you order the bbq wings, you're going to get twelve pieces of bbq chicken instead. You might also get ranch dressing instead of bleu cheese. Something else that might happen, is you'll have to repeat yourself about fifteen times when you call to place your order because it's so loud in there. Especially if the number 8 is part of your phone number or apartment number.

Mediocre Eats, Not the Same as it used to be!
If you like to hanging out with 20 year old waisted, puking college kids this is the place. Food is now average at best and the prices are not that reasonable anymore (they used to be). Pulled pork is ok but ribs are tough and brisket is dry (although it had a nice smoke taste). Sides are ok; mashed is the best, but also a bit expensive for what this place is.

Great lunch spot!
I had to post after reading the other reviews! This is by far one my favorite lunch spots. The portion sizes are huge. And in terms of price, where can you have a sit down lunch in NYC for under $10? I love the smoked turkey sandwich with cajun mayo, and the Cuban which has frickles on it! The service was faster and more efficient than some of the other slow southern paced Brother Jimmy's locations.

The food is just okay and certainly not worth it for what you pay for it. Definitely better BBQ to be had in the city. Lunch specials are still fairly expensive.

very good...
Went here twice in one week b.c it was so good. Service a tad slow, but not at all terrible. Had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Best advice is try for yourself and see - we thought it was great and it is a much needed in this area.

not great
We really did not enjoy the food. Tasted like out of a can. Great service! Noisy...If you want a young bar scene, you`ll enjoy. We did not enjoy the Brunswick stew or the pulled pork. The sides DID NOT taste homemade. If they only sold BBQ and not alcohol this place would be out of business. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
