Poor service.
The absolute poorest service I've ever had in NYC. After 2 hours of waiting for the delivery of two sandwiches I called and canceled my order. It was delivered 3 hours after I ordered it. When I called to tell them I wasn't paying for it and to ask why they sent it anyway, I was told never to order again and then hung up on. If I could give this place a zero I absolutely would. Uappetizing food and poor service.

80 minutes for delivery
I was quoted 35 minutes for my delivery that took almost an hour and a half. Though my phone number was given no one called to let me know it would be so late. after waiting an hour i called. unapologetic the phone person said that sandwiches were backed up. fine. it happens. but let someone know they are going to wait 3x the quoted time. we ordered two sandwiches. the bahn mi and the vegetarian french dip. and the couscous salad. the french dip came without the dip. no sauce. just dry seitan. spiced nicely but its called a french DIP for the sauce. which at this point wasnt worth another phone call. no utensils, or napkins came either. which is a pet peeve. i left a tip before the order came on my credit card which i guess they figured was guaranteed so why bother with any kind of good service. totally overrated.

Excellent quality, esoteric ingredients, NOT too pricey for what ya get!
My title says it all. I don't think the prices are high, especially for the care and high-quality, gourmet ingredients in each dish. Love, love, LOVE the many veggie and vegan options, as well! This is an eatery for the 21st century and beyond. I go here every chance I get.

They've brought back the steam table food
And it's back to being as good as it used to be. One of my favorite things about this place. The sandwiches are still delish also and I love the vegan deli mac salad.

Love this place, but disappointed with some recent changes
One of the best things about this place was the steam table food from 5-11 on weeknights. Frequently I wished I could have it as lunch because I get tired of sandwiches. But they changed the chef and the food they have now may be as well done but it's totally different. They used to have all these great cooked green and root vegetable sides. You could make a dinner out of just really great cooked veg. I recently went and the food was a black bean and corn salad, which frankly you can get at a korean store, I'm sure it's better but nonetheless not interesting. Several salsas, a big tray of mexican rice, tofu that was coated in something dark brown that did not look appetizing and a large tray of cooked zucchini. Also a chicken dish. All of this looked totally Korean deli steam table to me. Where was the heirloom cauliflower, tangy kale, roasted leeks, roasted broccoli, amazing mashed potatoes that they used to have? Disappointing and I won't be going back unless I know I want a sandwich.

over-priced, but good food
got breakfast for 2 the other day - 2 sandwiches (only eggs and cheese - no meat) and one iced coffee to drink while I was waiting... came to $15... very pricey, but they use all local/organic/etc. food, so you pay for that. coffee is good. biscuits are soooo good. overall yummy food, but expensive.
