Excellent
Everything I have tried is excellent. I especially like the chicken fried steak... the mashed potatoes and gravy are delicious, and the steak is as good as any I've ever had. Prices are reasonable; staff is friendly and accomodating.

Awesome fried chicken & waffles
I've been here twice and both times it was delicious. The staff is very friendly and generous, prices are reasonable, and a great playlist accompanied our meal. The chef obviously takes pride in his preparations (he's an adorable dude with a warm smile and sweet way about him). I hope it sticks around!

Tasty and inexpensive...
I'm aiming to try everything on the menu, and so far it's been awesome. Love the cornbread, the hush puppies, the gumbo, the chicken platter, the pie, the mashed potatoes, the eggs and gravy and biscuits, and the yams so far. Hell, the kale salad is fantastic, and I don't usually go in for that stuff. Can't beat the price in this neighborhood, either. The downside: their small dining room is going to fill up really quickly once word spreads.

I'm so glad they opened up here
There are several good places around here but no place offers the quality at the price that Brooklyn Southern does. So far I've had the Sunday Fried Chicken and the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and both were great quality at a great price. The service is friendly. The atmosphere in the front room is just adeqaute but they have a great back yard. We will be going there and ordering from them a lot.
