The "Diner"
I swore off ever going back to this erzatz "diner" after the last rip-off experience but, it was convenient and we had to be in the neighborhood. So I relented and we went in. We were seated at and undersized table for two with no legroom. A cheerfull waitress eventually turned up and took our order, a tuna sandwich ($18.00) and a cheesburger $(18.00). And, I nearly forgot, a $13.00 bowl of soup. There was no charge for the one glass of water we got. Only one glass because I ordered a $5.00 glass of Coca-Cola so they figured that I was not a water drinker. After a while, out came the soup and the sandwich came before the soup was eaten, but no burger. I thought it was taking a little while to cook because I ordered it medium rare instead in totally raw. It never came. After forever, the waitress came over and asked how I liked my pastrami sandwich, thinking that I had already eaten it and my place was cleared. I said that I ordered a cheesburger and was still awiting for it to come out of the kitchen. The waitress went over to her computer terminal, and I do mean terminal, and reordered the cheesburger that she failed to order to begin with. After a while, it came out and my partner watched me eat it because her meal was long since finished. The burger was eatable, but not special. The check, with reasonable tip, was $65.00. And you call this a "diner"? I come from Brooklyn and wish they would change the name of this place because they give Brooklyn a bad name.

Great place for lunch or dinner
We were in New York in September and we use to walk pass the diner everyday. We stayed on 57th Street. We had lunch and dinner there, great food, good value and service was great. I recommend this diner to anyone. Miss it already.

Great place to eat
We discovered the Brooklyn Diner a couple of years ago and make sure we eat here every trip to New York. The food is amazing and huge portions which suits me! The service is great too. We had breakfast here as well as our dinner last month and the cinamontoast with maple syrup, homemade jam and cream was wonderful. I can thoroughly recommend it

Think twice before going
The diner was over priced for the food. You feel cramped and it is loud. We had the chicken soup and it lacked taste. They bring a huge bowl with a literal measuring cup in the bowl and and then dump it in your over size bowl. It isn't even half full. I had to dump salt in it to try to draw out any flavor, there was no pepper on the table. There was a fair amount of chicken in it, but lacked taste. It was more water in it than broth. Also ordered the buffalo wings, KFC can do better. What a waste of money! Will never go back! Think twice before going.

Great food!
We eat at the Brooklyn Diner EVERY trip into Manhattan. The staff is very warm and gracious, the service excellent and the bartender, is THE BEST! The menu has changed and is now quite extensive. The food is always quality and is always consistently great food. Some of the items are a bit pricey $17.95 for 9 bufffalo wings... But all in all it is a fantastic place to have dinner!

Starstruck
After a one night stay at the Park Central Hotel around the corner and one hour before check out, we stumbled onto the Brooklyn Diner. The perfect diner frontage grabbed my eye and in we went. We got a table immediately and the service was fantastic. The breakfast was a huge step up from regular diner food and well worth the money. The best part of our experience however was Jerry Seinfeld sitting at the next table! Did I mention Eric McCormack was sitting behind him? This place had great service, wonderful food and made for the perfect topper to our mini vacay! Loved it!
