Just walk by and you will smell the grease. Went here for dinner recently salad, grilled cheeses, onion rings. The salad dressing was in a plastic squeeze bottle that was shared at other tables and it tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Yuck. They managed to screw up our order onion rings forgotten about and they weren't good onion rings once they arrived. You know the kind with the diced fine onion that you can buy in the freezer case at the grocery store? No thanks.

My all time fave uws spot for my meatloaf w/ no gravy on whole wheat toast with a side of onion rings. the o.r.'s aren't the best. kind of like mcdonal's if they had them. but their meatloaf sandwhich cannot be beat!! and 'lina' is a very 'interesting' server. they have old movie star posters. fine place.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 12 years and passed by this place all the time. I always wondered, since it looked so awful, why then, was it always crowded. One night, I decided to find out. I had a burger. It was great! In the late '90's, Brad Pitt filmed a scene from a movie there, and his signed photo is on the wall. So, if a location scout picked it for atmosphere, that should tell you how authentic it appears.

I love to go for Sunday brunch. The staff is friendly even more so as you become a regular and it has a local friendly diner feel that makes you feel lucky you live in the city and even more lucky that they can make you feel like you are in a small town. I have been going here for years! The staff a little slow only due to the large turnover of diners is consistent and wonderful. I recommend the cream cheese omelette (not on the menu but, of course they will make it for you). Great place!

It's cheaper than any other diner in the area, and probably the best food. I've only been for breakfast, and once when me and my friend desperately needed french fries--this was the only place that could possibly have satisfied us. Pancakes, buttery and fluffy, standard omellete deal, AMAZING sausage. Order the sausage. The waiters are busy and not so warm and fuzzy. But actually they are really nice and don't secretly want to poison your food, which goes along with the authentic, unpretentious atmostphere. Stuff off the menu can be expensive, but the specials on the board behind the counter are all good deals. If I were to--hypothetically--contract a hangover, I would definitely go here.

I go to this place all the time for any meal. It's close to me and has a good atmosphere. Your classic diner feel. The meals are a little bit on the high side, though. They only take cash. The service is fairly friendly and gets better the more of a regular you are. I like to drink a lot of water, but they're usually not too on the ball with refilling mine. I usually have to keep asking for more. The food is really good, though. I like the bacon cheesburger deluxe. =) But overall, it's a cool place. I like going there and will probably continue to do so.

I first came here in 1993, then 1999, and again in 2004. It does'nt change! A piece of basic Americana on Broadway. The breakfasts are great for an Englishman inn New York!
