I'm a Brit, when I visit NYC I always come here. Brekkies very good, Burgers good. Service great. A real neighborhood place, OK it is a little worn round the edges but the food and service is good. I had Tilapia stuffed with feta and spinach last Saturday, bloody good. I shall be back in May.

Okay, it may seem "more funky" than other places in the neighborhood and it's been there "since the year before the flood". HOWEVER, you will not beat it anywhere else (probably in all of Manhattan) when it comes to value given. The wait staff is exemplary; be specific as to how you want things cooked ... and, my word, it comes out of the kitchen hot AND the way you asked for it to be prepared! (People who complain later, but who neglected to ask for how they would prefer their food to be prepared, have no right to grouse because their burger is medium instead of rare! Toast? French fries? BE SPECIFIC!) The breakfast specials are incredible --- and, on the weekends and holidays, those specials stay until 3 PM! Talk about a cheap brunch -- which includes a small juice and coffee! You can walk out feeling well-fed for ten bucks, tax included! Tip well; they earn it! I usually like a light dinner ... and their meals are made from fresh ingredients and nothing is skimped upon. You may walk by often and not pay much, if any, attention and you'll be making a major mistake! Go in! A gem is still a gem, even if it is an old one!

I ordered two breakfast sandwiches here this morning - both egg whites with cheese on a roll, one with mushrooms. Went to pick it up, and the guy told me the total was $18. For two egg sandwiches? I told him that was not correct, and then he charged me $16, explaining that "one had mushrooms, it costs more." I should have just walked out. Last week I got two egg white sandwiches from here, both with cheese and bacon, and the total was under $10. Buyer beware - clarify the price before you order from here.

Best value for breakfast in NYC. A local place to go where you get honest food at honest prices. This Englishman in NY (30 years) loves it.

We had passed by this place several times, and unfortunately judged a book by its cover - albeit wrongly! I can only speak for the breakfasts as I didn’t have a chance to sample anything other, but they were exactly to my liking. Im a self confessed fussy 'so and so', so the Staff looked at me quite oddly when I ordered what I did for breakfast.... but they obliged with a smile :-) The atmosphere in the Broadway Diner is authentic, and the service is great. Every single person we encountered that works there is friendly. One waitress in particular talked to us and told us background info on the Diner, which was of real interest to me being a huge Pitt and Clooney fan. It seemingly was filled with locals of all ages and backgrounds, and it was a really interesting place to sit and enjoy the food, coffee and people watch. If the locals like it then it must be good. The prices were so reasonable, especially considering the amount and quality of delicious food we got. It’s an authentic place, it may not have the interior or facade of some of the glitzy diners, but it has real food, real People and real character. From my experiences in NY its can’t be beat on any of those!
