A so-so experience.
Looking for a good restaurant after a great show? Keep looking. After seeing "Rock of Ages" and enjoying every minute of it, my wife an I decided to check out "The Row" for a special dinner. We decided on Broadway Joe's. Atmosphere is decent, service is terrific. We'll stop there with the accolades. We settled on the prix fixe menu. The bread was cold. The Caesars salad had no flavor. It tasted as though they just put oil and a little vinegar on top of a bed of lettuce. For shame! I ordered the sirloin steak, well-done with rice pilaf. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli in a vodka sauce. Steak was decent but the rice pilaf lacked flavor or texture! The lobster ravioli was plentiful but the filling was not smooth and lacked any sense of lobster. The sauce was overloaded as well. The vegetables were undercooked (RAW!). One thing we did enjoy was the dessert. Cheese cake was delicious and the caramel custard melted in your mouth. So props on the dessert! Our advice, spend your money wisely and move on to 9th Avenue. Better options over there! Till next time!

Keep Walking
This is a third tier steakhouse that mostly caters to Times Square tourists who don't realize there are a ton of better steakhouses in Midtown. But let's face it, there are quite a few restaurants on Restaurant Row that aren't particularly good but they're convenient, and for some people that's all that matters. No real New Yorker spends much time at these restaurants and Broadway Joe's is no exception. I've gone to B'way Joe's twice, each time about 10 years apart, and it hasn't changed -- meaning it's not worth the time or money.

Bummer!
I had the same experience as the guy who said he loved his waiter but not the food. This is a knock-off replica of the typical NY steakhouse. The menu looks like the real thing but the food ain't even close. We live in Hoboken and have tried almost every major steakhouse in Manhattan, and this isn't even as good as the worst! And the crazy thing is that they charge the same prices as the real deal. The main reason we went here was because reservations are so easy to get and we got last minute B'way tickets from my husband's partner. Now we know why it was easy to get a table.

Oh It's SO GOOD!
We have been here a few times and every one has been a very good experience! I don't know what happened to these other people but I can assure you we have NEVER had a problem. The staff is more then accomidating from the time you walk through the door, they make you feel very welcome! As far as the food goes, we have never had a problem. We have been here on several occasions as I had mentioned and my husband LOVES steak, everytime it has been cooked to perfection!! Believe me when I tell you he would be the first to complain. As far as everything else on the menu, I have tried several choices and not one do I have a complaint. I beleive their prices are very reasonable and they also offer a coupon which alot of places do not. Last time we were in town someone had told us that Gallagher's was the place to go, well that was a mistake!!!! At Gallagher's the help was rude and steak over cooked by far, prices were rediculous for not half of the portion that you receive here. Beleive me when I tell you this is the place to go! I am not a person that normally writes reviews but I am actually shocked of all of the bad reveiws for this restaurant as we have NEVER had a bad experience.

Not as bad as all that
I dunno exactly what the other reviewers were expecting but I've been to this place about a dozen times (I live nearby) and it's nowhere near as bad as others are painting it. It's fairly good food. It's not the steak you'd get at say...Sparks, but over here in midtown west there ain't too many great steak houses. It's also the only steak you can have alfresco around here. Creamed spinach is good here. Mashed potatoes a bit salty and almost taste like they're made from a mix. Filet mignon was tender as can be and quite nice with surf'n turf.

Bad news!!
One of the other reviewers said something about wishing she'd gone to MenuPages before going to Broadway Joe's. I echo that sentiment! My wife had the filet and I had the lamb. They were both chewy and tasteless. Our appetizers were even worse! And it was all WAAAAAY too expensive for the low quality of the food. After I got back to Portland a friend of mine in NYC told me about MenuPages and suggested I write a review. I hope I can save someone else from going through what we went through.

Big mistake!!
One of the people in our tour group that we didn't know very well went to Broadway Joe's on Friday night and told us it wasn't very good, but we found the 20% discount coupon online and were dying for a steak so we went anyway on Saturday night. UGH!! It was maybe as good as a fast food steak joint - maybe - but even with the 20% discount it definitely wasn't worth it. When I want a good steak, I want a good steak. This wasn't even close. This is what I get for trying to save money!
