very good southern italian food
I've been going to Brio since 1994 i go to both of there restaurants. The one off Lex. is the main Restaurant, then there is the other one around the corner that has tables set outside for the summer. I love there pizza, grilled calamari, pasta & there entrees also very good too. ohh & try there tiramisu, it's very good. There staff is always on top of things, never had any problems & freindly too. I always recomend this restaurant to freinds & family. I know good food when i taste it & my parents come from Bari Italy so i'm always around good cooking, so look no further this is the place to eat.

Absolutely Fantastic
I order from Brio all the time. In fact they know me when I call to order. They have amazing service and often send me free meals and deserts because I am a loyal customer. They are very there and the staff is very welcoming. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better! I reccommed: The Polo Rustico, Penna alla Norma, the Smeraldino, and the penna pasta with tomato and fresh mozzerella :)

My comfort food - bella
I went here for drinks one night when I first moved to the neighborhood and that turned into apps and then a meal. Years later and many many brunches, night out for drinks or a simple get together with friends for dinner, Brio has not lost it's touch. As you walk in, the paintings and music set a wonderful mood. The drinks and wine list are sensational. You can't go wrong with the pizza, but the seafood pasta is delicious. This is always a good spot for just about anything anytime.

Not recommended
The salad has limp lettuce and canned corn. The pizza was bland, and the wine selection below average. In addition everything is over priced.

So Much Potential...
Located slightly off the avenue, Brio offers a little side-street peace in the middle of a busy shopping area and their outdoor tables are appealing without the avenue noise and traffic. Once inside, though, the room is drab, undecorated and in need of some paint and sprucing up. Cain chairs that look beautiful are uncomfortable and we found it odd that they don't open for Sunday brunch until Noon. Worst of all, though, is the slow and indifferent service, with waiters more interested in talking to each other than addressing their customers. Despite all this, the food was good, the weekend prix fixe brunch is a bargain and the bloody Mary's were generous. The price includes a drink, a choice of salad or tasty soup and a delicious entree. Their take on eggs Benedict and tomato frittata are exceptionally good and the dessert men offers many tempting choices. While the molten chocolate souffle was a bit over-cooked, the homemade millefoglie was scrumptious. A coat of paint for the room and some training for the staff could quickly turn this into a regular haunt. But perhaps they have little incentive to improve. With generous drinks, tasty food and reasonable prices, the restaurant quickly filled and tables turned. For us, though, New York offers too many options to return to Brio in the near future.

Two year Old Manolo Blahniks were better
I go to this palce when I want something good but reasonable in the '60s neighborhood and am usually satisifed..This is usually a servicable pasta place, but tonight because of the waiters raves about how fabulous the veal dishes were I decided to try one. Veal scalopini with asapargus tips. $29 one of the most expensive things on the menu. My two other friends ordered pasta dishes Their dishes were just OK. But.....OH MY GOD I got old shoe leather, and that would have been more tender. There were no asparagus tips in sight ,just some cold broccoli .When the waiter asked how I liked it, I told him. He offered us free desert but it was such an unpleasant meal I just wanted to leave. That entreeshould have been comped, it was really an insult to serve such a dish. My advise, stick to a sald and simple pasta if you venture into this joint. But really, you should avoid this place, it's best to spend a few more bucks on a better quality restaurant in this area.
