poor service
I would not recommend this restaurant because of the poor service. The hostess was rude and they made a mistake on the time of our reservation so we had to wait a long time for a table.

pasta fish the best
Brio downtown has really great food. I make it a point to eat there almost every night. the fish special is always perfect and they have great pasta dishes..Im literally tasting the entire menu and have no complaints. everything is good and this is definitely my go to restaurant for italian food. And for lunch they have incredible sandwiches, they also do brunch!! the location, decor is really cool.. great for dates and parties

What a surprise!
Luckily I discovered Brio soon after it opened and was truly surprised at the quality of Brio's menu. I have since returned several times with friends and family and everyone is more than satisfied. Delicious taste, interesting and attractive design and atmosphere, and very sophisticated, solicitous and charming service.

Lack of customer service
It all started with waiting at a bar area, that was not an actual bar but rather a giant table. They expected the poor hostess to fetch all of the beverages from the back while she was also maintaining the incoming crowd. Took 20 minutes just to get a drink! After we finally sat we waited an additional 45 minutes after we ordered to be served any sort of drink/appetizer. We finally received our bottle of wine (white) and it was placed on the table without an ice bucket to drip all over the linen. Our waiter disappeared for a while and we then learned that he QUIT mid-meal. The manager showed no remorse whatsoever. I'm hoping for their sake that it was just an off night but will never go back there, primarily because of the lack of customer service.

Exceptional
Beautiful space, spacious, and great food and service. A must go, who needs Eataly a few blocks away when you have authentic, fresh and wonderful Italian food!

Great service, lovely food!
We happened onto Brio after shopping for rugs. What an unexpected find! The service couldn't have been more gracious. We both had salmon, and it was delicious--perfectly grilled and served with (not drowned in) a subtle mustard sauce. Perhaps we arrived at the right time, because the restaurant felt calm; guests were taking their time, having long conversations; but we weren't forced to eavesdrop. That is, there was enough space between tables. We hope Brio opens a place on the UWS!
