    Poor service

Regardless of the quality of the food at this restaurant, the service is poor. The food lacks subtle flavours and is overpoweringly spicy. Not satisfactory.

    Can go there once

We ordered Dal Makhani, Milai Kofta, griller paneer, naan and the hottest dice (forgot the name). Do not order that hot curry. It's not worth the money. As rightly described in the menu, it's just pain and sweat and no taste. Milai Kofta was good. Dal Makhani was o.k. The naan (bread) was pretty big. Since they also give rice with currys, I think 1 naan or else is enough for 1 person. Service was nice but one thing I didn't like was that they automatically added 20% tip in the bill. We were party of 5. They may have put that in the menu but I didn't see it. Now I consider 15% to be average and anything above that to be generous. Why would restaurants think that the customers really liked them and would tip them generously. Overall I will give them 3.0 in a scale of 5.0

so far the best curry in town

The simplest way to describe them, they are by far the best in this city. This is how curry is supposed to be. The Vindaloo was great, and the Bhaji's reminded me of London, keep the good work going, cheers!

    Not recommended

Service is snail-like and the I'd have to say that the Aloo Gobhi and Chana Saag are subpar. In fact, all of the curries range from sub-mediocre to poor. Also it's overpriced.

Best curry house this side of the atlantic

Awesome curry. Try the Chicken Tikka Masala and the califlower.

    Great Food, Sometimes Spotty Service

Brick lane is a great little Indian resto. The place is cozy without being crowded and it really does have this warm ambiance. The food is excellent and fills you up quickly. My only caveat: Go early or on a weekday when the crowds don't overwhelm the place to avoid the spotty service.

    Good food, good service

Ok the food is good and so is the service. This is an east village resturant and the service is friendly and not uptight like what you would expect somewhere uptown. Sure there is a wait but if you did not want to wait, then go somewhere down the street, I guarantee you won't have to wait for anything, but then you won't have good food or friendly servers. Yes I will go back and I don't mind waiting. I love this place!
