Are you kidding?
The food here is no better than the worst Indian food one would have had on 6th street 20 years ago. New Yorkers-Wake UP! Stop paying ridiculous prices for subpar food. The onion bahjee was a smashed falafel, the rice was wet and the wine list is ordinary. The air was hot yet they seemed unable to do anything about the air conditioning, yet the staff tried to convince us that it was getting cooler. The restaurant was tiny and uncomfortable. Here is the kicker: The prices are comical for what you receive... the joke is on the customer. I will NEVER go to Brick Lane Curry House again.

Love the food here!
I go to this place often. It's one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city. Highly recommend!

A la carte is great, avoid buffet
Went to this place twice during my stay in New York visiting from London. Was curious as this place billed itself as the authentic British Curry house. Well, the dinner I had was outstanding. Really distinctive, and great value. The buffet was another story. Really bland, the chicken and fish full of bone pieces (these places should remember that if you're not Indian you can't necessarily navigate all of those with knife and fork and still have a pleasant dining experience that doesn't involve choking or getting your hands and clothes all soaked in gravy!) The good news is, since their menu is so great, I doubt the buffet gets churned back into menu options or vice versa like I fear with some other Indian restaurants. They should really improve their buffet or stick to a la carte lunch specials as it may undo the goodwill from their brilliant dinner options. Service was good and attentive, and the decor is very nice. It's not in a great neighbourhood, so it stands out as a better option there.

Avoid the buffet
I went twice, and the buffet was not good. Quality and selection was poor, price was comparatively high. The first time I went they had one meat dish, chicken buffalo wings and drumsticks immersed in a cream sauce. How are you supposed to eat that, swallow bones and all? They had a fish dish, filets floating in a cream sauce, it wasn't very appetizing. No spinach dish, and no appetizing vegetarian dishes. The second time the meat dish was goat bones in gravy - very gross and unappetizing. Very disappointing. Avoid their buffet.

I love this place
I love the food, I have been there five times, and each time I love it. Going back there for Christmas dinner.

Delicious Food... Ehh Service
I admit I'm one of those people who don't leave a review unless I have something negative to say... but after reading the last few reviews of this place, I'm dumbfounded. This place has, without a doubt, the best tika masala in NYC. To say it "isn't even tasy" is just plain ridiculous. Give them a shot. Don't let somone's bad experience with a waiter turn you away from a place that has food this good. It is a bit pricey, but welcome to Manhattan.

unappetizing
I always passed by the restaurant and wondering how the food was. So one day me n' a couple of friends decided to have lunch there. The food was not good and the waiter had an attitude. The food was greasy and it had bitter taste to it. The price for the dishes is insane because the food didnt even taste great. There are waaay better indian restaurants in that neighborhood.
