Very good but loud and inappropriate music
Been twice for lunch. Prix fix (2 courses for $17.95) very good and good portions. Salad a little undistinguished but calamrai/shrimp fritte excellent. Problem is the music is very loud. Rap music... singing .... we had to keep asking to have the volume decreased. Won't go back because the music is unpleasant and grating and kept us from enjoying our conversation as well as the meal.

Bricco is great!
I STRONGLY disagree with the negative reviews! I've been having meals at Bricco frequently and have had many great meals. The food is fresh, authentically italian (this is not a veal parm joint) and delicious. Yes, at times, rarely, there is a good but not great entree or appetizer, but overall the food is well prepared and the portions are more than enough for ameal and sometimes lunch the next day. I have sent many friends and family there in the past several months and all have returned with rave reviews!

Good pasta
We both started with a beet salad, which was very good. I had home-made Papardella pasta cooked al-dente with red sauce and veal meatballs. Rigatoni with Eggplant and smoked mozzarella was the other entree. Both were very good, but we've had better. Not a bad value, but not cheap eats. I enjoyed the flickering wood-fired pizza oven in the background. A decent choice if you are in the neighborhood.

Not recommended
i was at bricco for a function and boy was i surprised. the calamari was rubbery and cold, the fish lukewarm with no flavor and the broccoli and mashed potatoes on the same plate absolutely cold. i thought this would be a decent restaurant from reviews and friends, but it was the worst. and i don't consider myself very picky. they certainly weren't even trying.

sometimes great, sometimes not
i've been here with friends/family from full holiday dinners to wine for 2 at the bar. it's a coin toss. the food is always good, tho portions sometimes less then generous. sitting at the bar and eating can be lovely, as sitting in dining area can be extremely noisy. the pizzas seem to rock (not a pizza fan) and yes, it seems like it may be dial-a-server... it's not my first choice anymore.

Get the Pizza a la Renata!
The bar scene is sophisticated and fun. Great selection of wines. The charcoal oven pizzas are just great...especially the Renata ..sausages, arugula, prosciutto. Ask for sauteed porcini mushrooms.
