I've had the old B&C roast beef rolls and the new ones, and I actually prefer the new ones. I think the old ones absorbed too much broth, and I felt like I was eating baby food. But the beef broth is still really great, the wing dings are awesome, and the cheeseburgers are classically gooey. Cheeseburger, onion rings, and a Heineken is still my go-to order, but I get it to go cause the wood-paneled dining room is too dark for me.

B & C was a great place for a long time (it's been there 75 years!), but it HAS changed. Not the building, or the menu, but the Roast Beef has changed, and not for the better. A few years ago, management changed the roll that the beef is served on. Don't know why they did this after so many years, but the new roll has made a huge difference in both the flavor and texture of the roast beef sandwich. The old roll was soft, absorbed a ton of broth, and had its own unique taste. The new roll is like chewey, wet cardboard and adds nothing to the overall sandwich. The hot beef sandwich was their trademark for decades, and now I go to Roll and Roaster. And I worked at B & C for a long time as a young man. I know the guys that work there now and they usually make me a special beef when I go in, but the new roll just ruins it for me, and everyone else I know. Its a shame. Still good burgers and fries though. Seems to me that all of the newer customers who started going to B & C after seeing it on "Man vs Food" may like the new version of the hot beef sandwich, but they don't know the old version. There's no comparison. If they like the new one, they would have LOVED the old one. I still go in once in a while, hoping that the owners have come to their senses and switched back to the old Sabrett rolls, but they still use the crappy plastic-bag kaiser rolls. Too bad.

Love it. I was excited because I saw the burger featured on Man v Food. PROS: 1) Decent pricing 2) Cordial, friendly, positive, caring, prompt, polite, and professional staff. Everybody greets you, smiles, asks how the service has been, etc. If these people are having a bad day, you'd never know it. 3) Small woodsy-lookin' space. Love those. There's never more than 2 occupied tables whenever I'm there. Great place for conversation, calm place to eat. 4) GARGIULO BORGER, THE - double dipped. YEAH. Soggy bread never tasted so heavenly. That's what I'm talking about! Don't ask. Just eat. Once the patty was a tad dry, but the sogginess of the bread made it juicy. 5) Tried a FRANKFURTER yesterday. Grilled. Rustic. Smokey. Wish they had cool toppings for it besides the Bostongurka/Indian (?) (green relish). but it taste great on its own. The bun felt like it was a day/two old. Don't think they make their own buns. 6) Small but well executed menu SO FAR. Next time I'll try a cup of Beef Broth or Wing Dings. CONS: 1) I like my light veggie salad wherever dine. They don't have any salads. Nada. 2) There's a menu on the wall with prices. There's a menu on the stable without prices. There's no explanation of ingredients in each dish. Just the names. The waiter will explain, but I like it in text-form. 3) Hours of operation don't make sense. Mon-Thu: 11am-1am Fri-Sun: 11am-7pm... seems it ought to be the other way around. ----------------------------------------------- BOTTOM LINE: Go try the Gargiulo Burger, double-dipped and the frankfurter... without the bun.

it was no big deal whellers has better food .and a great price his hamburgers and roast beef are out of this world.

The roastbeef sandwich was great dipped and the onion rings were excellent, will be back
