Breadtastic
Went for dinner one night and had an AMAZING pasta with lamb ragu which i highly recommend. I went back for brunch a couple of days later and so my addiction began (i am only in NYC for a month) and I have been back around 8-9 times. Their sandwiches are delicious- all fresh ingredients and crunchy bread rolls to hold it all together - go for the chicken or goats cheese. I tried the polenta with mushrooms last week and it was orgasmic. Unfortunately when i ordered this again yesterday, it came out dry and didnt taste anything like the polenta i ordered last week. If ordering a cappucino, order it in a small cup as the standard cappucino is served in a cup that could host Olympic swimming events...not the perfect way to end a meal. The service is impeccable and the (gorgeous) waitresses are very friendly and helpful.

I have given up...
They are in the hood, so we keep trying them. Every time we are like "eh, it was ok". We have officially given up as of today. The food really in *not* very good. I have never had any of their pasta's cooked properly, todays pasta was literally like mush, i dont know how they can be so consistent with not being able to cook a pasta properly. Their entres are also pretty poor, again the food is just not that good (at all). Well we kept giving them a shot, and today we have thrown in the towel. If you are looking for good good, I would definitely pass on this place there are TONS of better places in this neighborhood. If you are going for a drink then maybe its cool, but i don't drink so i can not comment... Not sad to see you go...

The best soups in the city!
When I want to feel home I always go to Bread. Theirs soups are always great and the salads fantastic. Service is ok, but the atmosphere is so pleasant that I almost don't care. As long as I have my tomato soup! Stopping by at least twice a week

the curious case of benjamin bread.
As a patron for several years I am disappointed by the great downfall of a once beloved restaurant. After 30 minutes and 3 reminders we finally received a menu. 30 minutes later our order was finally taken. What puzzled me next was the order in which my food came. My entrée came first. My soup came second. And the bread and olive oil was brought over as I was paying my check. A few minutes later the same busboy who had placed the tray of bread on our table came over again. This time he asked if we were leaving. After I replied that we were, he lifted the tray of bread right off our table and served it to someone else. Surprisingly, all that had transpired was not an actual deal breaker for me. I’ll tell you what was: I don’t like my food with a side of unfriendly. I’ll take the food and leave the wait staff behind. All in all my suggestion is make this a take-out destination.

breadache!!
I left something behind and called. They hung up. When i went there they told me they never saw my item and my waitress acted like she never seen me in her life. I walked over to the table i was sitting at and retrieved my item, sitting there in plain site. When I held it up they all made obnoxious faces at me. i dont even remember the food!!

Bread, So Chic, So Simple, So Cheap
Love this place. Love it. Great looking crowd, great looking menu, even better prices. Check it out, a NoLiTa landmark in one of the city's coolest shopping and art nabes.
