With its unique take on the subject, the minimalist atmosphere and abbreviated menu of B&T may be off putting to some, but the quality of the food and service of the staff makes up for most if not all of any perceived short comings. I'm not sure where the Tapas moniker comes from as the portions were reasonable and well done. I'd definitely recommend a flatbread and a nice bowl of pasta, but would still call attention to the fact while everything in the eatery has the markings of a contender, something still feels a bit off. Maybe it's the touristy hotel patronage, but it feels as if they're following a very specific script and might benefit making the whole thing feel a little less robotic in presentation and atmosphere, (a soup special is the most seasonal item you’ll find). With the large number of ingredients the chef tries to squeeze into each dish, you know someone in the kitchen is probably hand-cuffed. Overall, while the bench of trendy, well to do Italian in the Gramercy area continues to swell B&T more than holds its own… 4 stars out of 5.

I just went to B&T to celebrate my birthday last night. From the phone call to make the reservation to the dessert, it was a memorable night out. Michael, the maitre'd was so nice and accomodating in helping me choose the table for me and my friends. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was a really nice atmosphere. The meal itself was really great. I can't remember the last time I had a meal that I really enjoyed in the city. I ordered the Sea Bass with farro and it was delicious. All of my friends ordered different things and everything was really great from the pasta to the pizza. We ordered cheesecake and the chocolate and hazelnut cake to share for dessert. They were both amazing! light and delicious and not overly sweet. A great ending to our meal. I would say that the only small complaint would be that the menu is very limited. I can only go back so many times before getting the same thing.lol Overall, it was a great experience and it's definitely a spot you have to check out.

Went to B&T last night for a pre-dinner cocktail. Really like this place and cannot wait to go back. Since we had dinner reservos, we did not eat. But the cocktails were great, and the wine is priced at a point you won't find many places in NYC. The staff was warm and friendly. The room is really nice- modern, yet the wood beams give it a cozy feeling. Convenient for a post-work drink or a great space for a larger party.
