    Too Expensive Yet Tasty

I work in the neighborhood and have been going to Bread for my morning beverage and lunch regularly. While the quality of the food is lovely, the prices have become offending. $3.00 for a SMALL iced tea ($2.00 maybe and $3 for a large...) Roasted potatoes (a small container for $6.00) Insane. Soup and half a sandwich just went up a buck to $12.00!! A salad for $14.....takeout and small. Please Bread....think about the prices. You were such a welcomed friend in the hood - my new place - but I feel taken advantage of.......

how do you say Yummy in Italian?

Finally a BREAD close to home! Bread To Go is the most recent opening in the West Village and I can't be any happier. It has a very similar menu to the much beloved original Bread (Nolita): fresh, modern, Italian and yummy! It is a small space, but it is meant to be mostly a delivery station. Since it's opened the lines have been a little naughty, but the delivery saves me a lot of time. I live for their fresh linguine with pesto, their quinoa salad and their aged salame with taleggio panini (under the breads section). In the afternoon, things calm down and I like to get a table in the back (the decor is stark meets vintage chic) and sip a well done cappuccino (finally!) with Nutella tartines (no need for the banana on top in my case! I am a purist. ;)

    Great Neighborhood Spot!

I finally found my new neighborhood spot - Bread To Go. If you are looking to have some great coffee, this is definitely the place. The menu has some really great options. It was hard to decide what to order being that everything sounded so good. The guy behind the counter was really helpful in his suggestions, and got a sardine panini to go. It is mostly a take-out and delivery cafe. The space is well designed for the size with some seating in the back. Service was fast considering the lunch rush of people. I definitely plan to come back or order for delivery. Although I will have a hard time not wanting to order their sardine sandwich again. It was delicious!
