The worst and moré expensive dinner in NY
We expected much more for a 240.00 dollars dinner for a party of 5. Kids above 5 pay the same as adults! Really expensive. Terrible service and awful basement. Doesn't wrth it. We should have leaved after watching the basement where we were seated. The salad bar very poor and the rice and beans really bad.

alright
Flavor of the food was not bad but the meet was over cooked and dry. Everything came out in a timely manor.

good thing i had a groupon!
My mom gave me a groupon for this restaurant so me and my friend thought we would try it. The atmosphere was really poor, we were seated in what looked like an unfinished basement. Oh, and there was no air conditioning or fans...The buffet was pretty sad, but the pasta was the actually really good. The pork and roastbeef was good but the steak was really really salty and I usually add salt to everything. Our server checked on us maybe one time. Honestly, the best part about the place was that the groupon included a bottle of wine, which was necessary in order to try to forget the fact that your sitting in the basement, dripping sweat, eating salty steak.......

Not recommended
Going to Brazil Grill prompted me to register for MenuPages and write a review. My wife and i took my parents to the restaurant for lunch. The prices are quite high, but i am always ready to pay for good food. Unfortunately when the food arrived, it was average at best. Starting from the top down. - The rice is stale. - I ordered a meat platter, which cost close to $30, but the meat was bland, dry and unremarkable and the portion was small. For $26-$30 (main dish) i expected a lot more for my meal. Bought a Groupon last week for the Rodizio all-you-can-eat meat feast. - The meat selection was not impressive, mostly pork which was tough and gamy. Some beef, some chicken. Although the skirt steak and chicken were good. Expected more from a Rodizio, definitely didnt expect to be overwhelmed with pork. - Salad bar was unedable. - Rice was old/stale (was left on a warming tray in the open) - Somehow the restaurant ran out of black beans - keep a close eye on your checks.

My favorite Brazilian restaurant in New York City
The first time I went to Brazil Grill was back in 2001, when I was visiting New York City for the first time. After that, I moved to the city and became a regular customer, dining there once or twice a month. Many of my friends have eaten there, and they seemed to like it, because every time I invite them to eat there again, they always accept my invitation. The food is delicious and very authentic, the music is good (even though I have to admit I don't like much a band playing performing live, because it can be a little too loud), and the service is good. As a Brazilian I feel like home, because everyone there knows me... and I love their caipirinhas.

Don't believe everything you read!
My husband's meal (steak) and mine (paella) was excellent, as were the appetizers and dessert. Our server was very friendly and helpful in our selections, and the manager was attentive to our question about our Restaurant.com coupon. Service might have been a little slow, but we arrived probably around the time of a shift change, and it was nice to not feel rushed. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Subpar
If you are thinking about eating at this place, please read all the reviews. Every negative review that is listed here is true! My spouse and I thought we would give it a try tonight (Christmas Eve) and it was the biggest mistake ever. The service was poor and we had to ask for just about everything. The only friendly person was the host. They only had one person serving the meat and it was slow coming around. I really like food and I normally do not complain but this was really poor. They tried to add a $12 tip on top of the meal. I asked them to remove the tip because the service was terrible. Please think twice before making the same mistake we made....eating here. You're better off paying more at another Brazillian Restaurant somewhere else here in NY.
