    Not impressed.

This was my first time at a "Brazilian" restaurant and I must say that i wasn't all that impressed. I mean it was neat to be able to check out a new restaurant and all, but I was slightly disappointed. The atmosphere was probably the highlight. Nothing special, but there was a live musician playing bossone, which was awesome. As far as the food went, the cuts of meat were fatty and most always overcooked if not dripping in blood. There was really no in-between. There was little to no selection in the "salad bar"--just a few drab selections of fillers. I was just plain disappointed in what was supposedly a decent restaurant according to one of my friends who is native to NYC. The service was almost subpar as they were slow to refill waters and the like. The price is pretty unjustified for the quality and quantity of food that you can get. We had a large party in our group, but I think the meat servers only came around 5 times. This is for a place that brags that they offer 16 types of meats! We had to ask for them to come back with different types, which is unfortunate! It wasn't even all that busy, but yet service was definitely lacking. I'd give this place an overall C-. The experience is a neat one, but don't waste your money if you're on a budget. Good luck.

    Wonderful Dining Experience

My wife and I found this place for dinner before attending a Musical in Times Square, Friday Feb 10, 2006. Great location, great food. We have been to several other brazilian Churrascarias including Fogo De Chao. Brazil Brazil charges half the price and offers food just as good the more pricier Churrascarias. Don't fill up on the salad bar. Be sure to bring a hungry appetite. The cuts of meat were tasty and plentiful. I sampled every cut of meat, (there were 11 cuts) which included roast beef, sirloin steak, pork tenderloin, turkey wrapped in bacon, sausage, and chicken. The wait staff were pleasant, attentive, and courteous. We will definitely be back the next time we are in NYC.

    Best Brazilian food!

I'm from Mexico City and I was in NYC couple of times. I went to this place and loved the place. The service was amazing and the manager, Antonio, was always polite and made me feel welcome. Next time I'll be in NYC again, I definitvely go back again. The prices are not that bad, but the meat is the best. Two thumbs up !

    Great Lunch

There were six of us that dined for lunch. That must be the time to go. We had great service, fresh food. The meats were wonderful. All six of us said we would go again in a heartbeat! The desserts were awesome too!

    Disappointing

Slow service, unappetizing and dried meat. Only nice waitress but... do you go to a restaurant for the waitress? Waiting to long for not good meat. Small buffet. Only 4 dessert not incuded in the price. It has just one thing that Plataforma doesn't have: a lovely garden.

    What's up with those tips?

2 of us ate here the other night. The meal was ok. But what annoyed us was the the tip thing. They added about 23% tip to our bill and there was just 2 of us. Our bill was about 80 bucks. Now I realize the difference between 15% or 20% is just a few bucks but on principle it was wrong. Then on top of that I paid cash and my friend paid on her credit card-when she got the slip there was a tip line with a suggestion of tip amount for 15% and 20%. Also they were out of about 4 of their desserts (I think there were about 7 desserts). We won't go back. Also, the salad bar here was just "eh". nothing great.

    Where's the Beef?

I heard great things about this place, and have been to other churrascaria places and loved them. Not so much here. The buffett is significantly lacking, especially compared to Plataforma. The meat was tasty, though it was like pulling teeth to have the waiters make the rounds. We had our fill of water, but not of the meats! It was aggravating in almost every way, though to be fair, the waiters were nice while denying us the meat. So they've got that going for them. The price isn't bad, and if you have 3 hours to wait around to get your fill of food, then this is a reasonable place to try. Several notches below Plataforma, however.
