Brasserie is a cute place and obviously loved by the midtown suit crowd. I suppose they use it as a glorified coffeeshop. Unfortunately, although our 2 soups we had were quite good (only one was lukewarm)... we both felt unsatisfied after our meal. My husband's lamb shank had definitely been lying around for a few days but he was too tired to send it back and get something else. (and it might have been the final straw for our waitress who really doesn't like her job). My steak was ok, but completely unadorned and although it was $28 with frites, when I substituted spinach for the fries I was charged an extra $3 for some pretty lame spinach. The food we had just felt like the chef never heard of cooking with love. Well over $100 for a greasy queasy feeling.
