Charming! Food was wonderful. Service, the best. Best keep secret on the UES.

I've walked by this place since it opened several months ago and kept saying I would try it. But after I made a reservation for 6 people for brunch, a friend told me that it actually wasn't very good and was overpriced, so I got a little nervous. However, we ended up having a lovely meal. The brunch selections were maybe a little pricey (high teens-low twenties) but came with unlimited cocktails/beer. And everyone really enjoyed their food- omelets, quiches, eggs benedict. Plus there was a nice selection of fresh breads to start. Service was friendly and not overbearing. Our only complaint was that it was too warm in the restaurant.

The mussels here are plump and the sauce is amazing. Great choice of Belgian beers, too, although prices are a bit steep. But why can't they get the service right? We waited too long to place our order, and it took another 10 or 15 minutes until we even got our drinks. Food took another 10 or 15 minutes. The kitchen (and bar) need to learn how to handle busy times. Once they do, they will have the perfect recipe for success.

I've dined at B Magritte about five times now. But this recent visit, left a bad taste in my mouth. It took close to an hour to get my burger and fries. I should have been warned that their kitchen was busy, then I would understand. Twist my arm to go back.
