Not for birthdays
Took a freind here for her birthday; spent over $170 for dinner for 2. I had advised numerous restaurant people that my friend was celebrating a birthday. For dessert, she received a candle jammed into a half inch square of raw strawberry. I had ordered the macaroons (quantity of 2) - they could have added just one more little green macaroon on the plate and jammed the candle into that. For your special occasions- go elsewhere. KMP

Good choice of a Brasserie
I had pre-theater dinner with a friend at this nice brasserie and we were both very pleased with food quality, service and ambiance. We had a couple of very tasty appetizers: tuna tartar w/ ginger and crispy fried calamari, for entree a decent bouillabasse, for dessert try the crepe Suzette you won't regret. I'll return it there for sure.

Fabulous Souffles
I had dinner at this wonderful restaurant last Friday night, everything was absolutely wonderful - staff, wine, and especially the cheese souffle followed by the chocolate souffle for dessert. I will definitely return in the very near future. Thank you to everyone who worked at Brasserie Cognac from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM on 2/5/10 I had an amazing time and look forward to my next dining experience.

Wonderful Meal
We went to this restaurant after a matinee. We were seated immediately, the entire staff was so courteous and friendly. Our dinner came at a good interval, everything was delicious. One person's fish was slightly undercooked but all the other meals were perfect. Our waiter went above and beyond, making the entire experience very inviting. We will definitely return.

decent food- subpar service
The sunday brunch menu features two courses and a mimosa which the menu clearly states includes champagne. when i inquired as to the champagne they were using i was told it was sparkling wine. when i pointed out the menu clearly states champagne is used i was rudely offered orange juice or coffee instead. come on guys...you are a french restaurant. champagne is champagne. anything else isnt. bad experience. bad service. but a decent mushroom soup.

Second time just as poor as first.
This place has been open for what, a year this easter? It felt like it was the opening night, two waiters instead of one on our section, confusing and sloppy and they mixed up our drinks. We had a drafty table by the window and my wife wanted to swap tables after the appetisers. You'd think we'd asked the whole team to strip-off and roll on hot-coals. Was less than impressed with the carpaccio, it seemed tired. And how can somewhere as big as that send out stone cold food. The allumettes fries, I don't know why I always order them if they're on a menu, its like a gallon of oil and one potatoe. I'm glad we've got it out of the way as we won't have to go back there now to satisfy our curiousity.

good service
I went to brasserie cognac on Wednesday with my wife and had the special spinach venison lasagna ...great dish !!! Plus the service ....bravo mario!!! Thank you !!
