    Unrefined

The atmosphere and aesthetics are absolutely lovely but when the food came out it was absolutely unrefined and really very grotesque.

    Not recommended

A nightmare. The food was not fresh. The wine served was not the one ordered. The cherry on the cake: A 18% gratuity is included even If you are 2 to eat. To sum up .... a place to avoid.

    Cheese!

My friend and I recently stopped in for a light meal after seeing a show at the Lunt Fontanne. As soon as we walked in we were seated and our glasses filled and bread brought out. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service friendly. We started out with the Steak Tartar, which we didn't particularly care for. But then our entrees came out! I had decided to just go with the Cheese plate (eating light), and it was wonderful! I know you're thinking, "Cheese? What's so great?" The presentation was great and the cheese was a delight. My friend ordered the Ratatouille and somehow managed to finish it off! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and anyone searching for a reasonably priced meal after a show.

    don't bother

my boyfriend and i stopped in here after a show because the place looked so cute from the street. we ordered steak frites and their macaroni terrine. honestly, i never ever write reviews of restaurants nor do i make a habit of trashing places, but the food here was so awful, i felt obliged to share. it is so rare to visit restaurants in nyc that serve inedible food, but this is one of them. my macaroni was so awful that i left a entire plate of food and would never return. to all, do not be fooled by the cure decor. this place is not worth the cheap prices. spend 3 more per plate and go some place quality.

    Great deal

I was really impressed the moment I walked in. Good atmosphere, good selection of wine, and excellent food! I had the risotto, my friend the coq au vin both great! service good and the prices are extrememely affordable. in and out for 0ur 8 pm curtain. Just come on time.. about 6:15. For such a close place to the theatre district its a true gem.

    Good find.

I was surprised to see that Kyma had not closed but had changed to Brasserie Athenee. So I decided to check it out. WE went for pre matinee lunch on a saturday. Hostess at the door was very sweet and sat us at a window table. The place got packed very soon.I saw the girl who used to work at Kyma immediately and she was as always a sweetheart! She knew exactly what to suggest based on our taste buds of the day!!The food was great, big omelettes, great sandwhiches, and the greek plates wonderful. Overall I like the new decor but I was told by our waitress that it looks even better at night time. Plan on coming back!

    I've had better

So I decided to take my partner out for a nice dinner at a nice French restaurant that wasn't too expensive, looked some up and found this place, menu looked good and he has been wanting to try Coq au vin and I Escargots. So we went and were immediately seated by the hostess who was friendly. We were given our bread and then waited about 20 min or so before we had to ASK to be served, and we were sitting next to the computer where they get the bills, everyone after us was waited on first and then the waitress said, Oh I guess I can help you. After the food arrived after about 45 min, without the appetizer, we started eating, the Steak Frites were just that, nothing special, steak and fries, the Coq Au Vin was fall off the bone good. The only thing they did not mention was the mashed potatoes had olives pureed in them, and we are not fans, he couldn't taste them, but I definatly could, and they AREN'T a good combo. The bill came to $82, not terrible for wine, apps, and two meals, but I could have had a better meal with faster service somewhere else.
