    Pretty good..

Food was good. Service even better. Prices were ridiculous though. I ordered tiny little ice cream cones for desert and it cost $15!

    Great place, why so empty??

Went here because we missed our reservation at L'Impero because of traffic... Walked in and was impressed with the restaurant layout, cool winding stair case, nice decor, but where was the crowd?? we had 8pm reservations, and their must been maybe 20 people in the restaurant.. . me and my girl got sat in a nice cozy booth, starving, and got some dry, tasteless bread... If we werent so damn hungry, I would of considered walking out.. Something about an empty restaurant on a saturday night seems weird to me.. We ordered a la carte, tuna tartar was ok, nothing special, however, the seared foie gras over compressed watermelon, with some kind of consome was the best tasting thing I ever tried.. The texture contrast, and how these flavors complemented each other was unbelievable..

    Used to be a HotSpot!

This place has taken a turn for the worst, I was shocked the last time I went. The food was so dry, it just wasn't the same. As always the atmosphere was great! Too bad the food isn't up to Par. I will not return.

    Unpalatable

While the service was great, the food was subpar. We had the prefix menu on Valentine's day, and could barely eat anything. The tuna was dry and overseasoned. The pork was overcooked and flavorless. And words cannot describe the unappetizing texture of the gingerbread pudding. It is one meal I wish I could take back.

    Expensive and Boring

Came here during restaurant week and the food was SUBPAR. Two of my friends ordered off the prix-fixe menu while myself and another friend ordered a-la carte. Most of the items we had were dry, flavorless, boring, and pricey. The decor was very nice and we were seated in a spacious booth, but nothing to write home about. The winding staircase is NOT as cool as everyone makes it out to be. I really don't understand what the hype is about. Service was very good. We were not rushed and our waitress was very nice. The bill for 4 people came out to $196 after a 25% discount on a bottle of red wine. Way too pricey for such boring and flavorless food. I will NOT return.

    Excellent atmoph/service, so-so food

The atmosphere here is great, and the service was impeccable. The food was not as great as I had expected. My salad lacked dressing, and the steak was very chewy. I didn't even want to finish it, and I love steak. The dessert was decent. I really wanted the food to be excellent, as I live nearby and this would be a great spot. The bar scene appeared pretty cool, possibly a great place to meet someone. I will definitely give this place another chance soon. Maybe, it was an off night.

    Excellent Restaurant

I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I love everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food. Dessert is very good as well. In addition, the Restaurant Associates - Rapatina Group - has amazing monthly promotions. Visit the website to sign up for email notifications. Last month, three of their restaurants did different 3-course takes on lobster.. this month is king crab legs & filet mignon! Also, when I was at Brasserie 8 1/2 for Restaurant Week, they had a discount on all wines, as well as giving out a free pocket guide from Wine Spectator.
