Decided to try this place since its sister location( Xai Xai) was full. The decor is average but the food was surprisingly good. The turn off for us came when we noticed on several occasions, the manager/owner bickering with the staff over every little detail. Needless to say, it soured the dining experience enough that we don't plan to ever return.

I am South African, and my daughter wanted to give me a treat for my birthday I was dissapointed in the enviroment as it looked like an unfinished basement. The flag was also hanging wrongly. The food was not so great and the koeksister is definately americanized. I was looking for the authentic south african koesksister. service was good.

I'm West African and have lived in Hell's Kitchen for over 25 years. It was a pleasant surprise to discover this charming/cozy spot in my neighborhood. My husband and I decided to check it out and it was not disappointing at all, the food was excellent and so was the wine..i had the prawns and he had the seafood biryani...we have returned twice and look forward to going back, it's pricy but for the neighborhood, it's worth it.

Been here quite a few times. For some reason, they gutted the place, and what used to look like a cozy hut now looks like an unfinished basement. Service was painfully slow, as an hour went by before we got our appetizers. It was hard to get servers' attention when we needed something. We felt neglected. The drinks were meh, and the food was okay. I don't think we'll return to Braai.

I was really looking forward to a typical "South African" dinner & instead had one of the worst dinners that I have ever eaten in any restaurant. The food was awful, the menu was not as advertised on line & as for the atmosphere, it compared to a noisy American Sports Bar. From a very dissatisfied & disappointed Fellow Countryman.

It was my first time eating South African and the Ribberjies Pork Ribs. One word... Amazing! The African Road Runner is also really good and tender! Make sure you try the Mango and Lychee Martinis.
