The service at Bouley was atrocious. We had made reservations and arrive a little early. We told them this and they told us that no one is seated before their reservation time. That is fine, completely understandable. Our reservation time came and went. Another half hour passed by, still not seated. Other patrons were waiting too and they were given drinks while they waited. It wasn't until 45 minutes after our reservation time that we received drinks as well. More patrons came in, some without reservations. Everyone was seated before us. We asked them about this and they just told us that because of the weather, some earlier patrons came in late, setting back their schedule and making tables unavailable to us now. We would have accepted this excuse, except that people who came in after us, who did not even have reservations were seated before us. When we saw this, we cancelled and tried to leave, but one of the hostesses caught us as we were leaving the coat room imploring us to come back, telling us a table had just opened up, even though no one had come out of the dining area to free up a table for the last half hour. It wasn't until an hour and a half after our reservations that we were finally seated in a tiny corner in their basement. To be fair, their food was good for the most part. I had the 6 course tasting menu all the of the food was very tasty, everything cooked to perfection, with maybe the exception of the dessert. The portions were small, but this was fine, since at that point, it was so late I had no appetite. As I was leaving the coat check girl, one of the only decent workers there, asked us if the food turned out to be worth the wait. The food was great, but certainly not worth that experience. I will never go back there.

What heppened to this once great restaurant? I went there last Thursday night with my girlfriend and we could not have been more disappointed. I had heard about the snooty service, but for us the biggest let down was the food. Chef Bouley seems to have lost his touch. The canape was unpleasant, the tuna appetizer tasted like the fish had been sitting there for days and the lobster was rubbery and bland. The duck was good, but not good enough to save this meal. Don't bother with dessert either, not at all worth it.

All i can say is what happened to bouley? this was one of the worst dining experiences i have had in manhattan. the food was cold and flavorless and the service was equally disappointing. i wish i had spent my money someplace else.

This was an evening worthy of a wonderful review. A thanks to the staff and chefs, for making our evening so very memorable. No complaints other than the dry, tasteless chicken. All else was delicious, special and will be recalled for a very long time to come. 4 hours at our table went so very quickly because the food, staff, and atmosphere were wonderful.

Had a fabulous birthday celebration at Bouley last week. The food, service and atmosphere were perfect! Had the $95 tasting menu, and all of the courses were delicious. Especially the porcini flan, the lobster, the divine egg dish, and the duck. Service was very attentive. I love the lemon tea cake that is given as a lovely gift.

Went to Bouley 2 years ago, the food was exceptional, and I brag about it over time. Came back this Saturday, I have to say I'm disappointed. The new location lost the cozy/intimate feel; the high ceiling make the room loud. 1/3 of the dishes was good, but not great; the others were boring. The lamb I had (from the tasting menu) was tastless. The fishes need salt. The coffee show up half an hour later than dessert. The waiter mixed up our dishes, which never happen in restaurant of this rank. I know it was 102 degree outside, but the room was extremely cold, my food became cold after 2 bite, and it ruin the taste. We ask the waiter to lower the AC, but never happen. I kept thinking "what happen to Bouley".

I have dined at Bouley several times over the last several years and was extremely disappointed with what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner for my husband and me. We arrived on time for an 8pm reservation, and had to wait a full half hour in the lounge area with no explanation or apology. When finally seated, we ordered the 6 course prix fixe (the smaller of the two prix fixe options). Some courses were better than others, but only half were what one would expect at a restaurant with Bouley's reputation. Worst of all was the atrocious service. We had to speed the meal along and it still took several hours. There must have been a good half hour between each course, which was just ridiculous. We will never return. A waste of money for a frustrating experience.
