    A great birthday present

    Had dinner at Bouley's to celebrate a birthday. Waiter and other table service personnel were attentive without being obtrusive; very courteous. Food was well presented and good, with many items "on the house". Had an extra birthday dessert presented to me, compliments of the restaurant - a nice surprise. Also, the atmosphere is beautiful. The only disappointment was at coatcheck. While we observed several groups receiving the complimentary gift bag of tea bread, we were not given one by the coatcheck girl. And, since it was hard to get someone's attention after receiving our coats, we did not ask for it. Otherwise, a pleasant experience.

    Don't miss this wonderful restaurant!

    My sister and I just dined at Bouley, and it was wonderful! The warm and welcoming greeting at the door signaled the start of a wonderful evening. Three wonderful amuse bouche, followed by the most incredibly delicious garlic/coconut soup! The Kobe beef was magnificent, as were the 5 desserts (3 came as special treats!). The service was warm and professional all evening. The other diners who reviewed Bouley should definitely try Bouley again; I know I will.

    Incredible food, some service troubles..

    The food here was wonderful. However, some major service stumbles at the end of the night pretty much ruined the desserts. Don't know if it was a sign that somebody in the kitchen was tired and wanted to go home, but at this price range they might want to take a few lessons from Per Se and stop watching the clock.

    Had been to Bouley many times in the past but not in a while. I am not a regular because I have had both great and not great experiences there. To start with it is a beautiful and romantic restaurant. The amuse is something I never give much thought to but I wonder whether or not it says something about the rerstaurant and how much they really care- It sets the tone? It did not set a good tone for me- To start my special shrimp in filo dough was very good and the yellow tail my wife had was just ok- My baby pig was interesting but not my favorite entree I have had. My wife had the halibut and it was great- The desserts were not that great although the many extras they sent out was a nice touch- I was very surprised by the indifferent service we received - no one seemed particularly interested or attentive- so what can I say - too spotty to be considered one of the great restaurants in ny.

    The fixed price lunch is an exceptional value. Everything was wonderful from beginning to end. A real dining experience and the service was great. The food just kept coming and they gave us so many "extra's". As a real nice touch, they gave guests a pretty bag with a freshly baked pound cake as a parting gift. We can't wait to go back and would eat there every day if we could afford to!

    Two thumbs up!

    Great food and service. The $35 tasting menu I've ordered was perfection and they give you three extra plates, the amuse bouche, a dish in between the appetizer and the entree, and a "pre-dessert", which I had a grapefruit granite with grapefruit supremes. I've told the maitre'd when I made my reservation that it was my birthday, they suprised me with two desserts! When I paid my check, they gave me a loaf of lemon tea cake. Talk about service! They've blown me away with the complimentary things!

    Enter.....Apples!....Take another step.....Hes not really French....Being seated is a blast. They move the table for the lady and then return it back to its original place. (NOTE) They move the table everytime the lady gets up. Its an interesting gesture. Prefix please and a moderately priced bottle of wine. Taste bud heaven! Is it raining in here because we are being showered with complimentary treats?! Pay the bill, and time to go...What a show....
