It seems that some of the reviewers are mixing the take-out bakery (with separate self-serve area) and the actual sit down cafe - which is not that small and has a great view of Columbus circle. Prepare to wait on average 20-30 minutes for a table during lunch hours (most weekends). I do not see it a problem as there are plenty of places in the Time Warner building to pass 30 minutes in. Borders is a floor bellow. The food is great. From a delicious ham and cheese (ask for it pressed) on a baguette to foie gras pate served with toast. Always changing soup specials are wonderful. Nothing is better then a cup of tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich on a cold or rainy day. All in all love it.

People seem to be way too harsh in their reviews. Bouchon Bakery is a smallish but airy and not uncomfortable space in the Time Warner building with some tables that have a nice view of the park. The food is simple but delicious- great bread, nice cheeses, fresh-tasting ingredients. I had a terrific lunch there with a friend and will make repeated trips back. Our server did his job perfectly. If you have something to complain about with this cafe, you have problems that a nice sandwich can't fix.

I've never eaten lunch here and can guess that it's probably not a pleasant experience. It's cramped, crowded and chaotic. It's just shoe-horned into an area that wasn't built for a relaxed dining experience. I just grab a couple of pastries and go. Bouchon's takes on the nutterbutter and Oreo are brilliant. Everything is fresh and finger licking good.

I have no interest in coming here for lunch. I went to the bakery and most of my selections were terrific (particularly the coffee cake which is the best that I have ever had and the almost too-rich chocolate tart). I agree with the reviewer who said the cookies were not that interesting. I stopped by the other day and saw 4 new pastries that took my fancy, so I can't wait to go back to buy them. It's definitely one of the top bakeries in NYC, along with Bouley Bakery, Sullivan Street Bakery, and Sullivan's former "sister" Grand Daisy Bakery.

Food was not fresh. Servers were inept. Save your money and go somewhere else. This is a tourist trap. I give this place a year and it will be closed down.

Extremely pricy for the quality of food, which is barely decent. I've had much better sandwiches that cost a third of the price. Tuna salad sandwich is okay, my boyfriend couldn't finish the Wagyu brisket sandwich because it was so bland. On the plus side, the fresh butter they serve with bread is very tasty, so is the light dressing on all the side salads. So it'd be great if you could just get bread, butter and a side salad and avoid the main courses. The view is also very pretty, but not enough for mediocre, expensive food.

After waiting over an hour on a Sunday to sit down and paying $13 for a grilled cheese I was expecting it to be amazing. It wasn't. The tomato soup that came with it tasted just like tomato paste out of a can. My companion who I was with got the soup special, and it was just a watery broth for $7. To be fair I did not have dessert, which is supposed to be their biggest strength, but if you are just looking to have lunch- go somewhere else.
