Ask to sit outside in the Garden..Beautiful wooded panels with lights to make you feel like you're in Italy. The food was genuine Italian Food that was the freshest food I've eaten in NYC so far. Definitely A must if you enjoy Italian and great service!

Went there three times now, the food is ok, nothing that I would qualify as special. The wait staff is in desperate need of managing. Three out of three times the staff was un-attentitive, distracted, and just all around unpleasant to deal with. So -- its a great place to be left alone and have a long conversation. Dont go for the food or service!

Tasty food. Attentive service. Polite staff. Slow delivery. Good portions for the price. I mean you're in Chelsea, you won't find a more stable bet for lunch.

A great place to take anyone to dinner .

Bottino has wonderful food and a great atmosphere. This, however, is tempered by its staff. The hostess was rude to one of the women in our party. Once seated the waiter was aloof at best. This place has potential but needs to lose the attitude.

great take outs for lunch, a bit overpriced, but its worth it

Although I totally recommend the take out lunch menu, the evening/dining room experience was lackluster in comparison. We were sat at a wobbly table that took 3 requests to have anyone attempt to fix it. Our waiter (fyi) was NOT the one to fix it. and we requested to be moved to a suitable table (after sitting for 10 minutes). Then another server tended to us with no greeting or charm whatsoever. He just asked, "if we were ready". The menu is boring and poorly executed. Decent minestrone and a good glass of wine were the highlights of this rather expensive evening. Also amusing was watching other diners near us have difficulty getting even the simplest of requests attended to by this seemingly untrained and aloof staff. Mid way through our entrees we were ready for the check. With so many good italian restaurants in Manhattan in this price range, Bottino simply does not stack up.
