    best Brazilian food in town!

This is a great place for carnivores! I always end up taking a friend that has never eaten Brazilian food; the waitstaff is always helpful in explaining the menu, and always give great suggestions! The Bossa Nova music in the background is such a great addition to the ambience! This is def. one of my favs!

    Consistently Excellent!

Delicious dishes for a great price. I've been to Bossa Nova a few times, I must say that these dishes are extremely good - Authentic Brazilian food. Generous portions as well. I love this place.

    Shameful Service

Went there this past thursday night with a large group. most people were not familiar with brazilian food so took some time to decide what to order. In stead of the waitress being helpful, she clearly showed her impatience to the extent that about half of the people decided not to order and just have a couple of drinks and left. Worst of all she did not know "crap" about the menu. I mean you don't have to be brazilian or speak portuguese but please take the time to learn at least a little about the food you are going to serve and please be nice, smile. Lost business for the restaurant cause i know serveral people will never go back which is a shame because the food was good and atmosphere is comfortable.

Food good service not so much

If you tell me something will take fifteen minutes, 45 minutes won't do. I'll return when it's not busy but not too soon

    Good Food and Good Service

I'm glad I did not read these bad reviews before going to Bossa Nova. My colleagues and I enjoyed it a lot so I decided to share our experience there. We were seated right away, waiter was very attentive, food and drinks were good, music was very good as well. Great place for casual dinner.

    Very Nice Restaurant!

My friends and I dined yesterday at Bossa Nova and we all liked this venue very much for several reasons: good food & drinks (I had a delicious Salmon on Mango Sauce and my friends had Sirloin Stake and all very good as well), friendly and efficient service, nice ambience and great music. We'll definetely return and recommend it to our friends & family.

    Subpar food and overpriced

I was really looking forward to trying Bossa Nova when it opened, but it was just not good! We ordered the mussels for an appetizer and I think water from the East river would've tasted better. Our waiter noticed we barely touched them and he very nicely removed them from the bill. My b/f got the polenta and ground beef dish which was just okay and I got the tilapia special, which was stuffed with crab and topped with shrimp. The fish was not very good and the shrimp were inedible. For two drinks and two entrees is was $70 for food that was medicore at best, but mostly inedible. Definitely pass on Bossa Nova!
