perfect spot !
I went to Borgo Antico this past weekend and was absolutely blown away by both the food and the service! From the moment the owner picked up the phone until the manager wished us a good night, everyone on staff was both professional and friendly. Our server was very knowledgeable on both the food and wines, and was really helpful in assisting us with choosing our 4 course menus (there is a suggested one, but we were free to create our own as well). The steam mussels soup, the pappardelle with vegetables ragu, and the steak were the real stand outs that evening. Most of the food we had was very rich, and the portions were fairly large; it took us a good 2 hours to finish. the restaurant filled up around us . The owner was our host stand as we were leaving, and seemed to take a genuine interest in how our evening had gone. All in all I thought the evening was worth !

good but not exceptional
Good Italian food is actually surprisingly difficult to find in the Village these days, but this place delivers, albeit for a price that is a bit above what it should be. That said, not all my dinner companions were duly impressed, so it isn't a sure thing -- the major difference probably residing in what exactly you order.

best place around union square
his has to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants in NY. The service is outstanding. The food is incredible. The pasta is made fresh, as is obvious by the taste and texture. My party was fantastic a nite to remember. This place gets things right. I highly recommend this place.

great birthday dinner
Had a great birthday dinner for my sister here. Service was very prompt but not in your face Food was great, very fresh and flavorful. Dessert was decadent. Price was actually less than I expected. all together no gripes at all, just good eats and good times. would def go back

Great Discovery!
Walked through the neighborhood looking for a bite to eat before a movie, and what a great find! Small, intimate setting with great wine [select]ions (tip: you can order it by the glass although their menu just lists bottle prices). Appetizers and food were excellent as well. Great atmosphere and service - definitely will be back and recommend to others!!

Delicious Neighborhood Italian
I'm always surprised that this restaurant is not more crowded. While the menu doesn't really take any risks, the Italian food that is served is wonderful and the restaurant is large and yet charming.

keep its promises
I've been at borgo anticco 3 times in the past 2 months and i have to say that given the fact that the menu is really simple (read pasta with meatballs and steaks) i could get some more exciting choices with the specials which, even though a little bit more expensive than the average dish a la carte, deliver a flavorful and well presented alternative. Wine list may be not the biggest in the city but reasonable in price and variety. Over all borgo anticco keeps its promises of good food, nice and attentive service and moderate prices.
