Nothing Special
I just didn't see a lot of value here last night. We had rather unadventurous tapas (chorizo, Serrano, bacon wrapped dates, mussels, lamb meatballs, cheeses)- maybe I would have enjoyed it more if we chose something more exotic? The best dish was the mussels and sausage (on special last night). We sat at bar and were served by the bartender who didn't seem entirely with it, understandably (he was filling drink orders for the whole dining room too). Tap beers were warm and not filled properly (head-ey pours), and they don't use full pint glasses (more like a 12 oz highball). Seven tapas, three beers and two glasses of wine totaled about $145 once tip was added- extremely expensive for something that really wasn't memorable. Plus, sitting at the end of the bar where servers picked up orders and ran checks, it seemed like they mostly used the area to complain about customers most of the night. The room is nice (although loud)... I don't know, I just don't understand the appeal of the place. Better food at better prices can be had at a lot places in NYC- I don't think Boquiera is worth the time or, certainly, the money.

salt for sale
Had octopus a week ago - was just great. Buttery flesh with some toasted radishes, salad - all in one - great combination. Had the same dish just yesterday - all about salt. Crazy, - it's just ridiculous to put so much salt into a small dish. Bottom line - they are inconsistent in food quality. Why!!? Don't you want to attract costumers, not deflect? It seems they are interested in latter.

Love it!
We have been here a number of times and have sampled so many of the tapas, both regular and special. All tasty and satisfying, especially those from the sea! Service is great and atmosphere is special. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Only down note was a brunch for out-of-towners. Food came to the table late and not very warm, so I'd stick to the evenings.

Loved It
Ate here for the first time tonight. Got there right at 5:30 so no wait. My husband and I shared 6 tapas - all were excellent, very tasty. Our waitress was pleasant and service was quick. Would definitely go back and will be recommending it to friends.

a long wait
I decided to go to Boqueria, only because I had 5 friends from Barcelona, and they wanted to try Catalan food. The waite was incredibly long for a table. The waitres was extremely rude and the paella that we ordered wasn't even close to what is suppose to be a paella. Firstly, paella does not have lima beans in it. .Also, the prices were too high for the service.
