Favorite Tapas in NYC
I've been to both this location as well as the Soho location and it never fails to please every time. Their paella is a must- it has the crusty crispy bottom that paellas should have. Looking forward to my next visit.

Looking forward to trying more
Was worried about tiny portions for a huge price but Boqueria more than exceeded my expectations - it was excellent! Went with two visiting friends, one a vegetarian and our food was delicious! The pan tomate is great; manchego was just 2 pieces for $5, but then again, only $5. We all enjoyed the patatas bravas and the mushrooms. I had the mackerel and the salsa and oil drizzle made me want to lick the plate. Whenever creme brulee is an option that usually does it for me, but I wasn't a fan of their version; we also found the churros a lil dry. However, I would go back just for the Spanish toast dessert - soooo good, another plate licking temptation. The pitcher of sangria seemed a lil overpriced at $34, however it was good and not too sweet. All in all, I'll would definitely recommend Boqueria and look forward to trying the Flatiron location too.

Bad food
Food was bad, too salty and tasteless (tough combination!). And I am not even comparing it what the food I get in Spain (I am from Barcelona) but with other Spanish restaurants in NYC. Not coming back

why so SALTY?
yesterday's meal was so SALTY. the tortilla, the garlic shrimp, and scallops with corn. the only thing that was okay was the lamb. i ate at boqueria a year ago and the food was fine. i have no idea what happened last night, though other reviewers have commented that the food has become salty in recent years. it's unfortunate. otherwise good food becomes inedible. i had to return the tortilla because it was so salty (the waiter was nice and gave us another slice; it was slightly less salty but the overall effect was still there).

Nothing Special
I just didn't see a lot of value here last night. We had rather unadventurous tapas (chorizo, Serrano, bacon wrapped dates, mussels, lamb meatballs, cheeses)- maybe I would have enjoyed it more if we chose something more exotic? The best dish was the mussels and sausage (on special last night). We sat at bar and were served by the bartender who didn't seem entirely with it, understandably (he was filling drink orders for the whole dining room too). Tap beers were warm and not filled properly (head-ey pours), and they don't use full pint glasses (more like a 12 oz highball). Seven tapas, three beers and two glasses of wine totaled about $145 once tip was added- extremely expensive for something that really wasn't memorable. Plus, sitting at the end of the bar where servers picked up orders and ran checks, it seemed like they mostly used the area to complain about customers most of the night. The room is nice (although loud)... I don't know, I just don't understand the appeal of the place. Better food at better prices can be had at a lot places in NYC- I don't think Boquiera is worth the time or, certainly, the money.
