Let me start by saying my first impressions were pretty good, good location, good ambiance, and good music, now all that was left was to try to the food. Now I dont like to be a complainer with a step by step recap of everything that went wrong, but this experience was like a train wreck. I was once a server and understand wait time, but there is no reason why people that came after us around us got their food first. The music was loud and people had to yell, which made it even louder, which in essence made the music louder because the musicians didn't feel like people were listening. I am going to skip around everything else and say the bottom line. I received a coupon as a gift for this restaurant, in a day where everyone has a smart phone they didn't accept the coupon through the phone (they needed a printed version) I worked in a restaurants where the cutomers where always right instead the manager threatened me with the police and cursed me out when I refused to pay until they took my coupon.

I'll be back!
I made a reservation on a saturday night for me and my family. The place was very busy, they had live flamenco with an incredible guitar player. we had few delicious starters to share; mozzarella burrata special, calamari and bruschette. I had a gorgeous filet mignon with spinach mash potatoes, my kids had fresh gnocchi and spaghetti , my wife tried the homemade fresh ravioli...simply delicious (she is Italian and she felt totally impressed). The service was extremely gracious and attentive like I never experienced in my all life (the waitress was helpful since the beginning and the manager was very friendly and constantly present throughout the all evening ) I will be back!

Totally not worth going to other than the ambiance
I am not at all a fussy eater but this place has nothing good besides the ambiance. Food is way below average. My friend ate the pasta and pizza because the portions are small and pasta was not good at all. I ate the lobster ravioli which was probably the most disappointing ravioli I've ever eaten. There was barely a tea spoon of lobster in 5 pieces. My wife ate the whole wheat pasta, which again was very underwhelming. Would certainly not go there again...

Paying for location, not the food
The atmosphere is ok, but the live music was a little loud for my taste. My party had to yell to hear one another. The food was mediocre, at best. I had the frutti di mare: the sauce was was bland, the mussels were inedible, and the rest of the seafood was overcooked. My boyfriend had the steak special, which was ok. It was cooked well, but the meat was low quality and under-seasoned. The best part of the meal was the company, but I see really no reason to go back.

Great food, great staff!
I met the owners outside on the sidewalk, they invited me and my family to try: "if you dont like something... the bill will be on the house" What an experience, the most delicious "Gnocchi" roman style were simply melting in my mouth, and the filet mignon with truffle sauce was the best I ever had!. My kids completely finished their spaghetti with tomato and pizza, wile the band was playing some great funky tunes. I will be back every time I can, this is the place to go if you are in Soho.

Delightful!
We happened on this little place while just walking the streets and boy were we delighted! Food is delish, drinks were yummy and the waiter was a dream! Atmosphere is cozy and comfy and I would absolutely go back, in fact I plan to!

Simply the best Italian in the Area
had to chime in to offset the reviews below. Boom is hands down a top restaurant in NYC, number 1 for fun and friendlyness. The pasta dishes at Boom from top to bottom are incredible. Homemade pappardelle and the gnocchi with tomato are among the best dishes. Another dish that comes to mind is the chicken involtini in a light cream sauce...phenomenal as well was my wife lamb with barolo wine. The wine list is incredible and hits all price points. We ordered a delicious Pinot Nero by the glass that left us with the most incredible palate. Our server was a nice young lady that guided us with energy and confidence trough all the good choices we made. The atmosphere was electric and the live music was a great complement to the incredible evening.
