Bonobo's (CLOSED)

I absolutely had a great experience. Great place for people with special dietary needs.... I was so happy to find a vegan restaurant that didnt rely so heavily on wheat and soy! The people are very friendly and let you try anything you want, which is great! I tried a few of the veggie / nut pates, and they were all great. I highly reccommend the Coconut Chai drink, its delicious. I will definitely be going back to try everything else!

One night, 2 friends and myself (all three of us, vegetarian) were searching for a new place to eat dinner and found ourselves at Bonobo's. First of all, the only things to drink there are mineral drinks which come in tiny containers and cost a lot of money. Then, I noticed that the menu was scarce, and it seemed to be centered around the 'nutmeat patty'. Seeing it as the feature, I figured it would be good. I was wrong. I've never had a more disappointing vegetarian restaurant experience in all of my meat-free years. I do not reccommend this place.

I happened upon Bonobo's when I was hungry and needed something quick. One of the servers gave me samples of practically everything on display and it was all so good I had a difficult time deciding which I wanted. I loved the variety of nutmeats and the soups were delicious, especially the coconut red pepper soup! The service was excellent and the dining area refreshing with many green plants and lots of light.

Bland and boring? No way...this is some of the zestiest best tasting rawfood around! The nut pates, salad dressings (ginger and chile pepper ones are particularly tasty), and veggie burger are exceptional. Not a huge fan of most of the prepared salads or the nori roll (though others like it)....really I'm shocked that someone could say the food here is bland, the copious use of fresh herbs is precisely what I love about Bonobo's...I'm not even a vegetarian and I have to divide my time between here and the shake shack when I'm in the 'hood. It's so good.

Since when does vegan equal bland and boring? The food here is under spiced and over priced, without much flavor in any of the interestingly titled "dishes".

Fresh, attractive, tasty food. Nice people behind the counter. Good value for money, and an interesting experience all in all. To just try to find a flaw, the ambience is a little on the cold side, with those white walls and high ceilings.
