Brunch
I come here for brunch at least once a month and always find the food good and the service very good and the bloody mary's excellent. I read some of the other reviews and i guess these peeps want a 5 star BBQ place. This is a neighborhood spot and it lives up to the billing. If some people want more, cook your own meal

Much Better BBQ Options in NYC
Let me preface my remarks by saying that I have dined at the following other bbq restaurants in NYC: Blue Smoke, Hill Country, Daisy Mays, RUB, Dallas Jones, Dallas BBQ, and others. I can honestly say this place is the worst. And by the worst i mean, worse than the Dallas BBQ. I will now qualify the above statements: Food- i ordered the pulled pork with the cornbread the the side (yams) with a side of mac and cheese. The pulled pork was actually passable once i drowned it in BBQ sauce. Other than the few pieces of fat i had to spit out, it was edible. The mac and cheese had a strange aftertaste. I suspect this was due to an unconventional type of cheese in the mac and cheese but not sure. This was confirmed with my dining companion. I was really looking forward to the cornbread. I am usually not very picky when it comes to the cornbread and find comfort in many variations of this bread. This cornbread was just plain bland and uninspiring. I am not sure how one can screw this up but BL managed to. Lastly, the candied yams; i think they forgot the candied aspect as this too was very bland and had no sweetness. I also got the sense the ingredients used in the dishes were not high quality- that sense you get when you eat at a cafeteria. My dining companion found her dish and side lacking flavor but in fairness she is very hard to please so i wont elaborate. Service- Upon entering, the hostess tried to wedge us uncomfortably between two tables even though the restaurant was one-third full. We asked for a different table and they said no- cant put 2 people at their small 4 person tables nor would they allow us to sit in either of the empty booths that never ended up being used that while we were there so we finally opted for a tiny table in the corner. Note to management- you may want to rethink this policy- your restaurant is not exactly overflowing with customers when i walk by. the waiter was great when i could get him but he was often MIA. In summary, the food and service was subpar. If you want great BBQ in nyc, try Blue Smoke, Hill Country or Daisy Mays.....

Will Never Go Back
This place had some of the poorest service I've ever had. The food was decent (though overpriced for the portions) and the drink specials were nice, but this did not make up for the absolutely abysmal service we received. Half an hour after our order was placed, our waiter came back and said no orders went through, with no reason. He said he would "rush" the order- 45 minutes later our food arrived. Whenever I ordered a drink, it took 20 minutes to get to the table, and the waiter had clearly forgotten them multiple times. Finally, it took 30 minutes to get the check, and the waiter had added an extra drink to the tab (which we had not ordered). Taking that order off the tab took another 15 minutes. At the end, no apology or recognition of the service. Absolute disaster. PS. Went on karaoke night - way too loud, with screeching singers - not conducive to good BBQ.

Amazing!
My friend and I were walking around the village and not looking to spend a fortune on good drinks. We saw the sign for $3.50 Margheritas and we were sold! The waiters were so cute and friendly. We spent the entire night chatting, drinking and talking to the gorgeous young waiters, until our boyfriends came and we had to play cool. The waiters looked disappointed but served us anyway with a smile on their face. We also had the chips and guacamole AMAZING! Can't wait to get back to the city for some BONE LICKING FUN!

Disappointing brunch
I had the eggs with pulled pork for brunch here recently. The pork looked and tasted like it was saved off of a diner's plate from the night before and reheated for me. Just dry and tasteless, not to mention quite fatty. The eggs were blah. I can make them better at home and I don't consider my eggs to be very good. The potatoes au gratin was decent at least. I imagine most people do brunch here for the unlimited mimosas and bloody marys which, to their credit, is a good value. I guess the idea is to get you wasted enough that you don't notice how unappetizing the food is. Unfortunately I don't like to drink a lot in the afternoon so the trick didn't work for me.

Great little find
Me and my fiancé found this great little BBQ bar/restaurant whilst wandering around Greenwich Village. Liked the look of the place so thought "why not". We were not disappointed. The drinks were cheap and the food priced just right and tasted amazing. We only sampled the bar food I have to admit but we stayed late on into the night and as the place filled up the food that was being ordered looked great. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful and it really put a shine on the place. We stayed for hours and ended up having a thoroughly enjoyable evening there. I would highly recommend, even just for a bunch of drinks. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in New York City. great food, drinks, atmosphere, decor and staff.
